Swedish scene group SVENNE/REDCROSS calls it quits

If this news is true (which is highly likely), then it’s a bad day for the Swedish scene. One of the oldest scene groups from Sweden, SVENNE, has apparently quit the scene for good. In an NFO released earlier today, SVENNE claimed “we're stepping down and leaving it [the scene] forever”. According to the same NFO, reason behind their decision is Swedish Anti Piracy Bureau (Antipiratbyrån) finding out details about members involved in the group. They also claim to have ‘made a settlement’ with the Anti Piracy agency and encourages other groups to quit as well. Full NFO is quoted below:

Farewell.And.Godbye-SVENNE-REDCROSS

After ten years on the Scene we're stepping down and leaving it forever. We have been exposed by the Swedish Antipiracy Bureau whom have identified all of our members and sites. The good thing is that we have had the possibility to make a settlement.

Our activity is immediately ceased.

We apologies to all Swedish and foreign movie producers for the damage we have caused.
Those of you who are still involved in the Scene - close down. None of you are safe out there.

SVENNE was a DVDR/XViD movie release group who often pre’d movies in Swedish languages. They’ve been operating for more than 10 years and was one of the most experienced groups in the Swesdish scene. An interesting fact about REDCROSS releases was that they alsways contained the following text in the NFO:

If you enjoyed this movie. Please buy it or make an donation to:

If the NFO is true and not pre spam (which it doesn’t appear to be), this is a major victory for the Swedish Anti Piracy Bureau. Antipiratbyran has had several triumphs over the scene in the past few months, including the takedown of Sunnydale topsite. And if SVENNE were really allowed to make a settlement – they must be very lucky as most groups don’t get that chance. Hopefully no other groups were sold out in the process.
