Awesome-HD Registrations Open For New Year 2011

This is our first post for the year 2011 and it’s good news for fans of high definition video content. Awesome-HD (AHD), a specialized HD tracker based on Gazelle RC2 codebase, has opened registrations for a limited time in celebration of the new year. Despite the loss of one of its main internal encoders (EuReKa) last year, this tracker managed not only to survive through the turbulent times but staff were also able to add many new features and enhancements as planned. AHD v4 now comes with a streamlined user interface, a new bonus system, subtitle and audio track integration for movies, requests, polls, collages and numerous other bug fixes. For those unfamiliar with the content on this tracker, it indexes HD movies, TV shows and documentaries including a lot of internal encodes unique to the site.

Although not as large as leading HD trackers such as HDBits.Org and Bit-HDTV, Awesome-HD has a strong user base of ~6000 members. As of 15/7/2010 AHD tracked 2700 active torrents which included 1500+ HD movies. These torrents include both scene and non scene releases. In fact, majority of the torrents indexed at AHD are P2P uploads ( a common characteristic of most specialized HD trackers). Video and audio content uploaded to AHD usually meet the following standards:

Movies - 720p/1080p x264 encodes + DTS/AC-3 + English subtitles in a Matroska container
TV – Only Blu-Ray / HD DVD sources. Only complete seasons.
HD-Audio - DTS-HD, TrueHD, LPCM, FLAC

In addition, material with highest video quality are are tagged as AHD Gold encodes. AHD Gold encodes are usually 720p/1080p video that meet a rigorous set of encoding standards (full details can be found on upload rules page).

Apart from the usual set of releases you can find on almost any other HD tracker, AHD has some internal encodes released by groups such as FoRM, HiFi, FTW-HD, D-ZON3. These groups actively upload on AHD and this is a good place as any to find their latest encodes.

Registrations for AHD are currently open. The current max user limit of the site is set to 8000 and provided that registrations remain open until this limit is reached, there are around 2000 free slots available for the taking.

Just a quick update on three more private torrent trackers open for signup. All of these are high definition torrent sites and if you are a fan of HD content you might find these useful. Two of the trackers mentioned in the post (HDBits.CN and THDBits) have never been featured on this blog but we have talked about BDMKV before. Content on all three sites is pretty much similar - you can find and download untouched Blu Ray Movies, high definition encodes of TV shows, documentaries, sports content and even HD music videos here. Description: We’ve seen HDBits.org , HD-Bits.ro and now we have HDBits.cn. A torrent site originated from China, HDBits.cn is not a partner of either HDBits.org nor .ro. It’s a relatively new tracker which primarily indexes HD movies and documentaries. HDB.CN is off to a good start and hopefully it can keep up the pace with new torrents.

HDBT Celebrates 2nd Birthday – Signups Open (Polish HD Tracker)

With the rising popularity of Blu Ray disks along with high definition video formats, dedicated HD torrent trackers have become some of the most sought after torrent sites within the BitTorrent community. No matter how many different HD trackers we feature on this blog – it simply does not seem to be enough to meet the demand :p For those of you who are looking to be part of a new private tracker with high definition video content, here’s another decent choice; HDBT. HDBT is a Polish HD tracker which indexes 720p/1080p TrueHD video obtained from Blu Ray source (mind you, these torrents are huge in file size), x264 encoded video including TV, movies, Anime, Documentaries, etc and even some high quality lossless music tracks and music videos. HDBT recently celebrated its 2nd year of being online and the site currently has open signups and free leech plus 2X upload on many indexed torrents.

Although HDBT hasn't been making a lot of noise in the BT community, the site has slowly but surely attracted quite a few dedicated members. There’s a fair amount of leeching going on and most of the indexed torrents are pretty active. Thanks to double upload and free leech on some of the uploads, building and maintaining a ratio on this site has become easier. As of 31/08/2010, HDBT tracked 1550+ active torrents in its database.

You might have noticed that HDBT is a ‘Polish’ HD tracker. Does this mean it only tracks non English content local to Poland? Not really. If you are from an English speaking nation you’d still find this tracker useful. Most of the releases uploaded to HDBT (including the ones with Polish Flag), have multi language audio. They usually have both English and Polish audio feeds and you can choose whichever you like during playback. Just check the AUDIO section in torrent description page to see the list of audio feeds embedded in a particular release. As mentioned earlier HDBT tracks TrueHD Blu Ray video, high fidelity x264 encodes and even lossless music and HQ music videos. If you are interested in joining HDBT, signups are currently open. On a side note, the site has one of the simplest registration forms I’ve ever seen on a private tracker. Either way it’s not known till when the open registrations will continue so get in while you can.

Blu Torrents v2 – BitTorrent Tracker For Untouched Blu-Ray Movie & TV Torrents

If you are on the lookout for full Blu Ray movie or TV torrents, here’s a private tracker you might find interesting. Blu Torrents specializes in Blu Ray video content that are untouched and whole. These files are not ripped, compressed or modified by any means and you get to enjoy high quality video along with special features and extras that are in the original Blu Ray disk. Downside of this is the massive file size – sometimes, the untouched BD video source for a single movie can take up to about 40GB. Although not a massively hyped up tracker, Blu Torrents has slowly but steadily been building a decent community. v2 of the site which apparently included a complete re-write of the codebase was launched last July with an improved user interface, Secure SSL connectivity and numerous other optimizations. If you are interested in becoming a member, new registrations are currently being accepted.

Launched several months ago, Blu Torrents has managed to attract nearly 7000 new members during this time. This is actually a decently sized user base for a niche tracker. The fact that not many out there would want to allocate 40GB of their bandwidth and hard disk space for a single movie makes this achievement even more impressive :p

Although the name of the tracker is Blu Torrents, it does index regular HD videos (including rips and other encodes), DVDRs, etc as well. However, the primary focus of the site seems to be on BD25 and BD50 releases as well as full disk re-encodes. Most of these releases are exclusive to Blu Torrents and are uploaded by the site’s internal encoders (internal releases may be identified by ‘BTNET’ tag on torrent title). In addition, there are some nice tutorials on Blu Ray encoding in their ‘Guides/Tutorials’ section. ChinaHDTV – Torrent Tracker With 720p/1080p HD & iPad Optimized TV Shows, Movies

How many HD torrent trackers does China have? I don’t think anyone knows the correct answer. However, we seem to run into a new Chinese private tracker for HD content every other day. What’s cool about these sites is that they aren’t just stubs with a few members and a handful torrents. These are fully fledged torrent trackers with strong user bases and content rich torrent indexes. For example ChinaHDTV, the site we are featuring today, has nearly 15k members even though it’s not a site you hear about every day. ChinaHDTV is a private torrent tracker for high definition content. It tracks movies, TV shows, music videos and documentaries, majority English releases. In addition to the usual uploads found on most HD trackers, ChinaHDTV has an interesting section (which is just starting up) for 720p MP4 video optimized for the Apple iPad .

With over 14700 registered users and nearly 2500 active torrents in its index, ChinaHDTV is a decently sized private tracker. And the fact that it’s taken them less than three months to reach this state makes it even more impressive. Leecher activity on most of the indexed torrents is excellent with popular releases usually having 50+ seeds each. Download speeds too are pretty good on this site.

As mentioned earlier ChinaHDTV tracks high definition content. This includes movies, music videos, TV shows and documentaries. Majority of available releases are English and are pre’d by renowned scene and P2P groups. Apart from English (United States and European releases) content, you can find movies and TV shows from China, Hong Kong, Taiwan, South Korea and other regions on this tracker. Most of the video files are obtained from Blu-ray, HD DVD, MiniBD (variant of Blu Ray Disk), HDTV or DVDR media sources (untouched or ripped) and usually have excellent video quality. If the translation I read on their homepage is correct, ChinaHDTV will soon ramp up its iPad TV shows section with uploads by an internal release group.

Being a China based private tracker built on NexuxPHP script, ChinaHDTV by default has a Chinese language interface. You do have the option to switch to English but we recommend you use Google’s Chrome’s built in translation to automatically translate the site to English.

How to translate CCFBits to English with Google Chrome

Select the ‘Options’ button (in the translation help popup) and select ‘Always translate Chinese Simplified Hans to English’ from the drop down menu.

Signups for ChinaHDTV are currently open. This is usually a closed community but the doors will be open between 31st of July to 9th August only (or until the site reaches 20k users, whichever comes first).

CCFBits Open Registration Day – Huge HD Torrent Tracker

Several months ago, there was a time when CCFBits was always open to the public. This however is no longer the case – the site has long since gone invite only and its doors remain shut for the most part. If you still haven’t become a member of this tracker, good news is that today is the open registration day at CCFBits. In case you were wondering, CCFBits is a huge private BitTorrent tracker indexing thousands of high definition (HD) releases. It’s a torrent site in the same league as HDChina, CHDBits, etc and is without a doubt one of the most famous trackers based in China. Good download speeds, internal encoder groups, tons of torrents including movies, TV shows, documentaries and lossless music, decent leecher activity on indexed torrents – CCFBits pretty much has all the qualities you’d look for in a good HD tracker.

Open registration day at CCFBits was announced sometime back but so far it has gone unnoticed in most BitTorrent news and invite forums. The site’s current maximum user limit is set to 20000 and at time of this post there were 19100 registered members, leaving around 900 free slots. Note that this user base is pretty strong for a specialized tracker – there aren’t many private HD sites around with 20k members. The indexed torrent count is equally high - with over 17500 active torrents (last time we reviewed this site back in July 2009, it only had 700) being tracked by CCFBits’s private tracker, it’s a site that can rival the likes of HDChina and TorrentGui in terms of content.

Speaking of content, this site tracks Chinese/English movies, documentaries and TV shows - bulk of the releases are English, released by renowned scene/p2p groups such as ESiR, CtrlHD, EuReKA and CTU. In addition, they do have their own internal encoder groups such as Pa@Ph, OurSky, YYets, XTM, StTVG and YDY. It’s worth mentioning that CCFBits is home to some huge HD torrent packs – for example there is a movie pack that exceeds 500GB in size. Download speeds on CCFBits is generally very good and there are a lot of freeleech torrents around making it easy to maintain a good ratio.

While it has excellent content, CCFBits does not have the best interface around. Primary interface language is Chinese (with English labels for main functions) and every torrent has it’s name spelt both in Chinese and English. Note that presence of a Chinese name does not mean the torrent is actually Chinese – most of the time it’s English. Chinese characters makes the layout somewhat cluttered (at least for those us who don’t know jack whack about Chinese) but its a negligible issue. If you want you can translate the site into English with the help of Google Chrome browser.

Awesome HD v4 Signups Open – Now On Gazelle RC2

Good news for HD fans – specialized high definition torrent tracker Awesome HD is open for signup. Things were not looking good for AHD earlier this year when one of their main internal encoders, EuReKa, left to join HD-Torrents - a rival HD tracker. Although everyone saw this as a critical blow to AHD, the site is very much alive even after 6 months since the incident. In fact, AHD staff and its coders have been busy adding a lot of new features to the tracker during the last couple of months. The site only recently achieved two important milestones – the launch of AHD v4 and migration to Gazelle RC2 codebase. AHD v4 brings is some welcome new features while Gazelle RC2 ensures a more secure, faster hunt for torrents on Awesome-HD. Of course, it’s been about a month since these changes have been implemented but this is the first time AHD have opened public registrations after the revamps.

With over 5100 enabled users, AHD is a medium sized private tracker. The site tracks 720p/1080p x264 movie encodes + DTS/AC-3 + English subtitles in a Matroska container, TV shows ripped from Blu-Ray / HD DVD sources (only complete seasons) and DTS-HD, TrueHD, LPCM & FLAC HD Audio. As of 15/7/2010 Awesome HD tracked 1775 active torrents which included 1100+ HD movies.

Ever since it was launched about an year ago, AHD has been adding new features to the tracker at regular intervals. If you were not satisfied with the 10+ improvements introduced a couple of months back, here are some more changes to keep you hooked. Quoted below are a list of features launched under AHD v4:

One of the highlights of AHD v4 is the new bonus points system. You can now do some pretty crazy stuff with bonus points including activating half leech, secret free leech or free leech for a random dude on tracker.

Earning bonus points on this tracker is pretty easy. Here’s how it works (quoted from site page):

Bonus points are awarded for seeding completed torrents. Every hour you are awarded 0.1 points for each GB of each completed torrent you're seeding. e.g. for a 10GB torrent you will get one point.
You also will receive an extra 0.1 points where you are in a group of seeds totalling less than 5. You also receive an extra 0.1 for each seed less than 5. e.g. 4 seeds you get 0.1 points, 3 seeds 0.2 points, 2 seeds 0.3 points and if you are the only seed you get 0.4 points

No matter how good a private tracker is, it would be of little use to our members if they can’t get in. Although AHD was closed to the public in the last 4-5 months, signups have now been opened for a limited period of time. If you download high definition video over the internet, you might find the site pretty useful so check it out.

PIG2PIG Tracker Open For Signup – For HD Movies, TV Shows & Documentaries

Name three things most Chinese BitTorrent trackers have in common – they are all built on the NexusPHP tracker script, they all seem to specializes in HD content and they all have plenty of leechers. For fans of such torrent sites, we are happy to present Pig2Pig, the newest China based HD tracker to enter the BitTorrent scene. Odd sounding name aside, Pig2Pig has managed to grow rather quickly within the first few weeks since its launch – today it's a decent torrent site filled with active members and a healthy flow of new daily torrents. You can download high definition video content including movies, TV shows, sports and documentaries (both scene and P2P releases) from this tracker. In addition to HD releases, PIG2PIG tracks some PC and console games as well. Signups are currently open and if you are looking forward to being a member of a fast growing HD tracker, check this site out.

Launched a couple of months ago, PIG2PIG was off to a rocky start with several downtimes earlier on. However, the site recovered well and has since been able to build a somewhat strong user base. With close to 10000 registered users and open signups poised to bring in some more, PIG2PIG does not have that much to worry about when it comes to user activity. The site currently tracks close to 6000 torrents, most of which have good seeder activity leading to better download speeds.

As mentioned earlier, PIG2PIG is primarily is high definition torrent tracker. You can find all major scene and non scene HD releases including movies, TV shows, anime, sports and documentaries here. However, they currently do not have an internal release group so don’t expect to find a lot of exclusive, unique stuff. PIG2PIG is based on China and the default site language is Chinese. BDMKV & TorrentCCF – Two HD/Blu-Ray/MKV Torrent Trackers Open For Signup

Although unknown to many English speaking users, China has some of the best HD torrent trackers in the world. In fact, almost all private trackers from China seem to specialize in HD content (and they all seem to be built on the NexusPHP BitTorrent tracker script). After last week’s post about TorrentGui, here are two more dedicated HD trackers (both based in China) open for signup; TorrentCCF and BDMKV. TorrentCCF (aka ET8) is a fairly large HD tracker that’s been around for a while. BDMKV on the other hand is relatively new, and specializes in untouched Blu Ray/MKV movies and TV shows. If you are interested in becoming a member of either of these trackers, registrations are currently open - note that open signups won’t last forever so get in while you can.

BDMKV has over 200 untouched Blu Ray movies and more seem to be getting uploaded every day. In addition to there, there are some MKV movies as well as high quality lossless audio files available here. Just like BDMKV, TCCF tracks releases from both scene and P2P groups including WiKi, CHD, SEMTEX, TSG, CtrlHD, etc (releases by some groups that are ‘internal’ on other trackers are also available). Overall a good tracker with a strong users base as well as a rich torrent index. An English language option is available for international users.

TorrenTGui (TTG) Signups Open – Private Tracker For Games, Movies & TV Shows

These are indeed good days for private tracker buffs. Yet another excellent BitTorrent site, TorrentGui (TTG) has opened public registrations and is currently accepting new members. Understandably, some of you out there might not be familiar with the name ‘TTG’. Even though the name is new, this is by no means a new, start up tracker. TorrentGui was previously known as GameGui and used to specialize in video games. Now, it has rebranded itself as TTG and has expanded site operations to track software, movies and TV shows in addition to PC and console games. It has an impressive collection of high definition video content and is home to several P2P encoder groups including ‘WiKi’, who used to release exclusively on HDChina. TTG will be open for public registration for three days starting today.

With over 35000 registered members (at least in their forums), TTG is one of those huge private trackers. Bulk of this user base migrated from GameGui which itself was one of the largest Chinese torrent sites during its time. Their torrent index is also decently sized with around ~7500 active torrents indexed at time of posting.

Although TTG began as a games only tracker, the site has now expanded to index video content including movies and TV shows. You can even find software and other releases which makes this essentially a General/0Day tracker. If you are wondering, TTG still seems to focus a lot on games and their PC/Console games collection is as impressive as it ever was. In addition, this tracker has quite a few exclusive releases with the help of internal encoder groups such as WiKi (Ex- HDChina), NGB, BPMWell, BD Club, QW (games) and WiiDao (Wii games). Although the majority of releases indexed on this tracker are in English, it’s navigation interface does not have an English language translation option – it’s all in Chinese. However, there is no need to worry – you can get over the translation woes with the help of Google Chrome.

AceHD Opens Signups After 1 Year – HD Movie & TV Torrents

Back in June 2009, we posted an article about ACE-HD, a high definition torrent tracker that was brand new to the BitTorrent scene back then. The site was open for signup when we made the post and a lot of our long time readers probably became members there. However, open signups did not continue for long – the site soon became invite only and remained that way for a very long time. Today, exactly after one year since our first mention of the tracker, we revisit it to bring you an updated review. During the past year, ACE-HD has evolved from a newbie HD tracker to a well established high definition torrent site. But that’s not the only good news we have – tracker staff have decided to open registrations to the public for the first time in over 12 months. You can register an account on this site in the next 48 hours but keep in mind that open signups won’t last forever.

As you might have guessed from the name, ACE-HD has connections to the veteran general tracker AceTorrents. Speaking of content on AceHD, movies, television shows, documentaries and even music videos may be found here. Most of the releases indexed on this tracker (apart from a few BRRip and BDRip releases which are not considered true HD) are high definition encodes (720p, 1080p in x264, WMV-HD and untouched Blu Ray formats). Here’s a quick update on another private torrent tracker open signup. HD-Bits.ro, an excellent online resource for all things high definition, has opened public signups after several months. Although it’s name might suggest the site is a rip off of HDBits.org, HD-Bits.ro is an independent tracker that has risen on its own. With thousands of members and torrents the site has two things essential for the success of a private tracker; content and activity. Apart from the scene and P2P releases that are found on almost any other HD specific BitTorrent site, HDBits has some exclusive torrents uploaded by their internal encoder groups i.e. HDBRise. Although it’s currently open for registration there’s no telling when the doors will close to the public – if you are interested in high definition content, go ahead and signup for an account without wasting any more time.

With over 19000 active members and over 4200 active HD torrents, HD-Bits.ro is easily one of the largest HD trackers currently online. Download speeds on this tracker are superb – you are likely to max out your high bandwidth internet connection when downloading torrents. Pre times are also pretty decent around here.

As for the content on this tracker, HD-Bits.Ro indexes HD movies, HDTV series, HD Documentaries, adult content and even some lossless music and HD music videos. Scene releases as well as a lot of p2p and home user encodes are available for download. Content on Hd-Bits.Ro includes lots of torrent packs (collections) – obviously, some of these packs are f’ing huge and in some cases span over 400GB in size. Accounts with 0 activity, no download (free torrents not included) and no upload, are automatically deleted after being a member for 10 days.
Accounts that have total traffic (download + upload) smaller than 10GB/month will be disabled after a 1-week warning. This is an average value, actually you are not forced to upload/download every month. Freelech download isn't taken into account.

HDStar HD BitTorrent Tracker Open For A Limited Time Only

In most countries, the 1st of May is a holiday (International Workers' Day) – China is one of those countries that celebrate this holiday to the fullest. It’s no wonder that even Chinese BitTorrent trackers are joining the party by opening registrations; HDStar, a private torrent tracker based in China, has opened signups to the public for a limited time. HDS is an excellent resource to find and download high definition content including movies, TV shows, sports, documentaries and even anime. Although it’s based on China, the site is packed with English content and users even have the option to change site interface language to English. If you are a fan of HD content, go ahead and register for a free account before the user limit is reached.

HDStar is not a new tracker and this is not the first time it is being mentioned on FILEnetworks Blog. We featured it back in last August when it had another open signup. Anyways the point is HDS is a well established tracker in the BT community in the same league as other popular China based HD trackers such HDChina, CHDBits, CCFBits, HDCity, OURDiSC (open) and HDRoad. HDS currently has 9400+ registered users and tracks 12000+ torrents. Seeder/leecher activity is great on this site with popular torrents having 50+ uploaders. Download speeds are also pretty good.

As the name suggests, HDStar is primarily a HD content tracker. You can find a lot of 1080p/720p full Blu-Ray movies (including some massive torrents which weigh over 45GB for a single movie), DVDRs, HDTV shows and other x264 encoded content on this site. Both scene releases as well as HD encodes by P2P groups such as HDS, CHD, MySiLU, WiKi and lots more are indexed. Screenshot below shows part of HDS’s torrent index as well as some of the available torrent/video format categories:

As you can see the torrent index has color coded torrents – a different background color means the torrent is either free leech, 2x up, 2x up and free, 50% download recorded, 2x up + 50% download recorded, etc. Information on which colors mean which benefits can be found at the bottom of Browse.php page. By allocating such bonuses to torrents, HDS promotes their motto ‘Leeching them is the best way to fix your ratio!’.

Although HDStar is currently open for signup, don’t expect the doors to be open for much longer. The site currently has a user limit of 10000 members and that only leaves around 400 more free spots remaining (at the time this post is being written). So, if you are a lover of HD content, go ahead and sign up for an account without wasting any more time.

tpsBB Launches Ratio Free Tracker, Teams Up With DDR and DUS Release Groups

We’ve featured tpsBB several times on this blog but in all those cases it was introduced as a direct download link forum. However, this site has expanded and it is now more than simple DDL forum. In addition to one click hosting download links section in their forums, tpsBB now has a fully fledged BitTorrent tracker. It’s a ratio free private tracker that is integrated to the forum and it is likely to track exclusive tpsBB encodes including high definition content as well as TV scene releases. For those hearing about tpsBB for the first time, it’s a site run and maintained by non scene encoder group NHanC3. Along with exclusive releases by NHanC3, you can find HD content released by P2P groups CCnSS, AQUA, PRODJi, WHIZZ, ASCo and more.

Once you register and log into tpsBB, you’ll notice that there is now a new section called ‘tpsBB torrentz’ above the usual ‘tiRG Downloads section’ (this is where DDL links are indexed – read more about it here). If you browse ‘tpsBB torrentz’ you’ll notice that it is a forum based torrent index categorized by movie and TV release types (alternatively, you can directly access the BitTorrent tracker through the ‘Tracker CP’ drop down menu on topmost toolbar). Some of the thread names suggest that this tracker will soon begin tracking exclusive releases by tpsBB internal encoder teams (NhaNc3 ,CCnSS, etc) which have up to now been made available only via one click hosting sites such as RapidShare.

However, make no mistake – tpsBB’s tracker is still very young and is currently no match for their own DDL section which is rich with content and gets updated more regularly. As of 18/4/2010 there are only around ~75 torrents but strong user participation (some of those torrents have 200+ seeders) suggest that the tracker will definitely develop into something solid.

Meanwhile there is more good news for existing members of tpsBB. They seem to have partnered with two Indian P2P release groups, DDR and DUS, and plans are afloat to upload a lot of Bollywood stuff in addition to the already popular Hollywood movies that are indexed. Quoted below is a recent message sent by the site administration:

HDME Signups Open – Download HD Movie and TV Torrents

After a few months of closed registrations, doors of the excellent HD torrent tracker HDME have again opened to the public. For those of you who are hearing about this site for the first time, HDME is not a new entrant to the BT scene. It’s almost a year old and is a pretty well established tracker. A great user interface, tons of HD torrent packs and an active community makes HDME one of the more successful specialized high definition torrent trackers in the BitTorrent community. Although HDME was open to the public several months after their launch, this is the first time registrations are being opened after the site went invite only sometime back in October 2009. If you are looking for a place to download high quality video content, you should check this site out.

For the 12 or so months it’s been online, HDME has improved in more than one way. They’ve managed to build a strong user base consisting of over 12500 members. More importantly, they’ve been successful in building an active community around the HD content downloads which is the site’s main attraction. In the meantime HDME’s torrent index has continuously expanded- as of 28/3/2010 there were ~3500 active torrents indexed.

At a glance, the 3500 torrent count may not look like a lot, especially for an HD tracker. However, there is a lot more content indexed on this site than it meets the eye – out of the 3500 torrents listed, roughly 10% of them are either season packs or full series torrents. Yes, HDME indexes over 300 packs (and these are usually on free leech). Speaking of the content found on this site, lots of English movies and TV shows in HD formats (720p/1080p Blu Ray, etc) as well as some lossless music in FLAC format are available for download.

Maintaining a healthy ratio on HDME is relatively easier than other HD trackers. There are a lot of free leech torrents (including packs) and a seed bonus system is also present. Bonus system allows you trade earned points for upload credit, site invites and additional free leech slots.

As mentioned in the title of this post, HDME signups are open. Open registrations will continue until the site hits 17500 members or until the 31st of March (whichever comes first). BiT-UNIT3D Open Again – Private Tracker For UNIT3D HD Encodes

About four months ago we reported about the launch of BIT-UNITED (BU), a new gazelle based private BitTorrent tracker which indexed releases by HD encoder group UNIT3D. After a several weeks of testing, BU ended the beta last December and their public launch was a blast. Thousands of new members joined the site within a matter of days and it soon hit the maximum user limit, bringing an end to open registrations. If you were too late back then and couldn’t create an account on this tracker, here’s a second chance; BiT-UNiT3D has raised it’s user capacity and opened the doors to the public once again. If you are interested in downloading high definition movie encodes by team UNiT3D (which are not usually found on other HD trackers), you might want to check this site out.

BU is actually the sister site of HD-UNiT3D which is a DDL forum run by Team UNiT3D. UNiT3d is a P2P oriented High definition movie release group comprising of over 15 encoders. If you are unfamiliar with HD-UNiT3D forum and their internal encodes, we suggest you read this post first. BU was started as a sister project of the DDL forum. It’s aim too was to offer downloads to UNITED encodes – this time using the popular BitTorrent technology as opposed to one click hosting links provided by its sibling.

During the 3-4 months it has been online, BiT-UNiT3D has recruited close to 1500 active members and managed to index over 650 torrents (that is 600+ movies). Note that all of these releases are exclusive torrents unlikely to be found anywhere else. UNiT3D releases typically come in 720p, 480p or m-HD video formats (usually in a Matroska container) and all are uploaded in UnRAR’d form.

Apart from the features we mentioned in our initial review, the following improvements have been made to the tracker in the last couple of months:

Collages added. Now all the similar movies can be grouped together.
Hit N Run script implemented – Official requirements to avoid a HnR now are seeding till a ratio of 1 or seeding for 72 hours.
New ways to earn credits -
- Every week a random torrent will be selected, and credits will be given to the seeders and leechers of that torrent.
  - Every Seeder - 250 Credits
  - Every Leecher - 100 Credits
- IRC Credits - Random contests will be held thrice a day @ IRC and credits will be awarded to the winners.
- Uploader of the month - The person with most uploads in a month will be rewarded with 2500 credits.
- Lottery - A Lottery system will be introduced to give out credits to lucky members every month.

Improvements aside, it’s great to see BU still maintaining the request fill ratio we spoke of earlier. It now stands at ‘Requests Filled : 146 of 154 (94.81%)’ which is pretty awesome for any tracker.

As mentioned at the start of this article, BiT-UNiT3D is currently open for signups. The site’s current user limit has been raised to 3000 which leaves more than 1000 free slots remaining.

HDChina Open For Signup – Great HD Tracker

We’ve on numerous occasions discussed HD torrent trackers that have their roots in China. Out of all the Chinese trackers featured on this blog, HDChina is probably the largest both it terms of content as well as user base. It’s a specialized High Definition torrent site that tracks a lot of English movies and TV series. Releases indexed here being untouched Blu Ray or x264 encoded rips, video quality of torrents tracked by HDChina are usually very good. HD is a private community and is usually invite-only. However, it does occasionally open signups to the public and the good news is that one such open registrations session is currently ongoing. Their server seems to be getting hammered by a lot of new users trying to sign up all at once but if you keep trying, you will eventually be able to get in.

Although not very popular in the western world, HDChina is a huge private tracker and is one of the largest HD trackers ever. As of 28/10/2010 there are close to 25000 registered members on HDC and it has a huge torrent index consisting of 18000+ torrents. The reason for it’s relative lack of popularity in English speaking countries might be the whole ‘Chinese connection’. After having a glance at the signup page filled with Chinese characters, many people seem to turn away, assuming this to be a BitTorrent tracker with releases local to China. This however is far from the truth. Majority of the content on HDC are English with international releases such as Hollywood blockbusters being indexed. Even the site interface can easily be switched to English if required - Once logged in, just click on the English flag icon on the top left corner of the page to change the language. Also note that this site labels almost all torrents including English only releases using both Chinese and English wording. So just know that a torrent having a Chinese label doesn’t mean it’s a Chinese release.

As for the content, HDC is movie/TV tracker. A list of categories and video formats found on this tracker are summarized below:

Movie: Blu-ray, 1080i, 1080p, 720p
TV Episode: TV EP (CN/HK/TW), TV EP (JP/KR), TV EP (US/UK)
TV PACK: TV Pack China (HK/TW), TV Pack JP/KR, TV Pack US/UK

Torrents indexed on HDC have very good health thanks to the large seeder base. Some of the most popular torrents have over 500 seeds each and download speeds are generally very good. Unfortunately, the same cannot be said about the HDC’s web page navigation. Navigation becomes a pain in the ass when the server is busy (when there are a lot of people online, when there is an open signup ongoing, etc). When this happens, you need to hit refresh several times just to get to the torrent browse page from the HDC homepage (which is pretty annoying).

Overall this is a pretty decent HD tracker. For those who want to get in,HDC is currently having open signups as well as sitewide free leech. These won’t last last forever so get in while you can. Be warned that if your account has 0kb upload/download after 7 days since registration, it will automatically be deleted.

Note: If you encounter ‘page cannot be displayed’, ‘page currently not available’ errors or other similar error messages, keep trying. These are caused by server issues and not because the signups are closed. If you get any of the error messages after hitting signup, you’ll have to re-fill the signup form and resubmit. Refreshing the error message might not work and give you a ‘you did not agree to the rules’ error.

EuReKa Joins HD-Torrents - Signups Open, Awesome-HD Domain Changed

There’s been a lot happening in the BitTorrent community today – EuReka, an internal encoder and a founder of the high definition torrent tracker Awesome-HD, has left AHD to join HD-Torrents, another popular HD tracker. It was a move filled with drama as EuRekA took the Awesome-HD domain along with him, leaving close to 9000 AHD members stranded and not being able to use the tracker. While this definitely is a blow to AHD, we learn that this definitely will not be the end of the tracker. At the same time, EuReKa’s addition will boost the value and popularity of HD-Torrents, which is already considered by many as an equally good HD torrent site. If you are looking forward to join HDT, signups have been opened for 4 days apparently to celebrate ‘the joining’.

Before we bore you with the Mass PMs and forum posts that explain the drama behind this move, let us first talk about the tracker in focus – HD-Torrents (as we do in any other tracker review). This is not the first time HDT is featured on this blog – we posted about it in April 2009, back when they had another open signup. Since then, HD-Torrents have recorded some impressive growth and is now in league with other similar torrent sites such as HD-Bits.Ro.

With over 7500 torrents and an active seeder/leecher community (most popular torrent on this tracker has over 600 seeds), HD-Torrents is a good place to be if you love HD content. It tracks lots of 720p and 1080p releases (in x264 container) ranging from movies, TV shows, documentaries, anime to even some high quality lossless music. There are a lot of p2p releases indexed (in addition to scene releases) including some uploads by internal encoder groups which now include EuReKa.

By now you may have figured out that HD-Torrents does not open registrations that often. However, HDT will be open for public signups in the next 4 days – this is of course in celebration of EuRekA’s joining as an internal encoder. The fate of Awesome-HD?

As mentioned earlier Awesome-HD is unlikely to die from the events that took place today. While the absence of EuReKa (and the domain) will be a loss, the site will continue its operations with the rest of its uploaders and encoders. Below is a message we received from staff at AHD:

Rabomil has taken the awesome-hd.com domain away from the site after a disagreement with the rest of the staff of AHD. We are currently working on getting the site back under a different domain. The site is accessible via the hostname: http://vs0123.flosoft-servers.net

Existing members of AHD should be able to access the tracker with their old usernames and passwords via the above address. However we learn that AHD will move to a separate domain possibly www.awesome-hd.net and continue its operations from there. As of this moment, HAD signups remain closed.
