Of all the private torrent trackers currently in existence, ChronicTracker (CT) is one of the oldest. The site has been online since mid 2005 and it’s very much alive and kicking even in 2009. Various improvements to both the site and the tracker have been done over the years and CT has definitely moved ahead with time. As the title of this article suggests, it’s General/0Day tracker with decent pre times, good download speeds and of course a strong community of veteran BitTorrent users. After being closed for several months, CT has finally opened public registrations – if you were waiting to get in, now is your chance.
With close to 13000 registered users and over 4500 indexed torrents, CT has a solid footprint in the BitTorrent scene. Note that some of these users are long standing members who’ve been with the tracker for years. Torrents are better seeded at CT than in most general trackers – popular torrents usually have 20+ seeders each. Pre times are good, with small-medium sized releases usually being uploaded after around 5 minutes since pre.
The first time you log into CT, you’ll immediately notice the greenish colored site layout. Someone at CT must really like weed - the default theme seems to be inspired by weed :) Anyway as the title of this article suggests, Chronic Tracker is a General/0Day torrent site. We don’t exactly know till when the site will remain open. CT will probably be in open reg mode till the current max user limit of 15000 is reached (which leaves around 2000 free slots remaining).
