Download Full Blu-Ray Movies & Other 3D Videos From 3DBluRayISO (Torrents + DDL)

When it comes to new movie releases, 3D is the new buzzword. Nowadays, almost every new epic movie opens up with a 3D version. In a world where there are BitTorrent trackers for almost every niche, it wouldn’t be a surprise if a tracker specializing in 3D content didn’t exist.  3DBluRayISO is one such private community focused on sharing 3D videos. As you may have guessed from the name, the site focuses mainly on untouched Blu Ray ISO images of 3D movies but that’s not all it has. It has x264 encodes of retail movies (usually a HD source is used), TV rips, movie trailers as well as tutorials, technical guides, FAQs to help get 3D working in your home theatre/PC setup. 3DBluRayISO is a hybrid of a private torrent tracker and a DDL forum – registrations are currently open.

3D BluRay ISO

3DBluRayISO is a relatively new forum but the site has managed to gain a significant amount of popularity amongst the BitTorrent community. It’s only been online for a couple of weeks but has already recruited over 6500 members which is quite an achievement considering the niche 3DBRI focuses on. There are nearly 2000 threads with ~200 active torrents (tracked by their own private tracker) and a couple hundred more movies releases with DDL links (files hosted in MegaupLoad, HotFile, NetLoad, FileServe, etc).

Content on this site is rather uncommon and chances are that you won’t find these encodes on the average general tracker. Bulk of the indexed content are untouched 3D Blu Ray ISO images. While these have excellent video quality and all special Blu Ray features in tact, they are also massive in file size – the average ISO image weighs around 40GB. These encodes can be played back on most current PC/Home Theater setups, but you might need additional hardware to enjoy the full 3D experience (refer to 3D Tutorial section for more info). In case you are still unsure about the type of content tracked by 3DBluRayISO, the screenshot below should give you a pretty clear understanding:

3DBluRayISO Index

As mentioned earlier, 3DBRI is currently open for registrations. If I read their tagline correctly (“Online 3D sharing community with no exclusive BS”), they have no intention to become one of those l33t sites inaccessible by general internet population. Anyways if you love watching 3D Blu Ray movies in their full glory, check this site out.

Horror-World : A New Horror Tracker Open For Signup

It’s not everyday you see the launch of a specialized private tracker for Horror Movies and TV Shows. In fact, there are only a handful such trackers around, with live examples being The Horror Charnel (THC) and Henteles.Hu (Signups open). Horror-World is the latest torrent site to join this club – and yeah, as you might have guessed its dedicated to tracking all things Horror, including movies, film stills, soundtracks to electronic books relating to this genre. Built on TS Special Edition 7.1 codebase, HW is a private tracker that’s just starting up. Some of you would be glad to know that this isn’t one of those super secret sites closed to the public – signups are currently open and everyone is able to create a free account. If you like Horror movies, check this out.

Horror World

Horror World is only a few weeks old so don’t expect to join a tracker that has 50k members and 100k torrents. Additionally, this is a niche site meaning it would have much less number of torrents than your average General/0Day tracker. Nevertheless, HW is off to a pretty good start and currently tracks around 500 active torrents and has managed to amass a registered user base of 475+ members (statistics as of 10/20/2010).

As for the content available on H-W, it’s not just horror movies and TV shows. Movie soundtracks and electronic books (including audio books) relating to the genre are also indexed. Right now there aren’t a lot of these non-movie torrents available but presence of separate tracker categories would mean there are plans to add more of these in future. As for the movies, they come in a number of different video qualities ranging from BRRips, DVDRips, R5 to VHSRips. Both new movies as well as older releases are indexed. The screenshot below should give you a better understanding of what to expect on Horror-World.

Horror World Index

Signups for H-W are currently open. In fact, they’ve been always open ever since the site’s launch about one and a half months ago. If you like Horror themed video and audio content, check this tracker out.

TinBoxTorrent – New Movie/TV Tracker With Focus On BRRip and BDRip Releases

Ever since it saw the light several years ago, the DivX/Xvid video codecs have been hugely popular, especially among those who download movies and TV shows over file sharing networks. However, with the advent of higher fidelity encoders such as x264, some argue that the Xvid format is dying. But if you look at download statistics on most private torrent trackers, you’d see that the number of downloads for Xvid encodes of a release still greatly outnumber x264 encodes or untouched DVD/Blu Ray versions. In other words, Xvid still alive and kicking. TinBoxTorrent is a brand new private tracker that attempts to utilize the popularity of Xvid encodes – it’s a site that mainly caters to Xvid movies and TV shows with the main focus on BRRip and BDRip releases. TBT is probably the first site to prioritize or these relatively new Blu Ray rip formats and it starts out as a ratio free tracker. The site is still new but it definitely has the potential to succeed.

TinBoxTorrent

This is probably the first time you hear about TinBoxTorrents – it’s only been a few days since the launch (opened on 25th September 2010) and it hasn’t received any media attention so far on BitTorrent forums and blogs. Currently there are only 78 registered members on the tracker but this number is expected to go up once this article goes live and as the news of TBT spreads around the BitTorrent community.

The amount of torrents however is a different story. TBT starts off with around 275 active torrents. It appears that these torrents are seedbox hosted and has decent download speeds. Uploaders will however need to improve the rate which new torrents are added to the tracker (we know, this is easier said than done). As mentioned earlier, TBT is a movie/TV tracker with both Xvid and HD video formats including x264 encodes. Their ultimate goal seems to become a tracker which specializes in BRRip and BDRip torrents. A screenshot of  part of the the torrent index can be seen below:

TinBoxTorrent Index

According to the site’s owner, TBT starts off without ratio rules in a bid to promote the tracker. They might however switch to a ratio based model later – even so, we are told that site wide free leech will be activated for at least 7 days every month.

Signups for TBT are currently open. All newly registered members will get 5 freeleech slots, 1 invite and 200 bonus points upon signup. As for closing comments, this clearly isn’t a site that can challenge the movie repositories of TL, IPT or PTP yet – but it definitely is off to a good start and as we said earlier, has the potential to succeed.

PTN v2 Goes Live With A New Look And New Features

If you’ve been reading us for some time you probably have read about PTN, a ratio free private torrent tracker for movies. And if you have read about PTN, you are likely to have read about PTN v2, the major site overhaul that’s been on the cards for some time :) Good news is that PTN v2 is now finally live – has the wait been worth it? Short answer is Yes. So much has changed in v2 that PTN now looks like an entirely new site. From browse pages to notification windows to category icons, virtually everything has changed. And it’s not just the new visual layout and new themes that are highlights of the new version, the site’s coders have managed to put together some useful, interesting new features into the mix as well (which is a good thing). Another notable change is that from now on PTN will become a pure movie torrent tracker – TV shows are no longer allowed on site after v2 launch.

PTN Logo

There’s an entire forum section dedicated to explaining the new features (along with screenshots) introduced in PTN v2. Below is a summarized list of features compiled using the information available in this forum. In some cases, we directly quoted the feature descriptions on PTN as there really was no way of explaining it better:

  • Faster load times and on-the-fly-searches - The browse page was entirely re-designed and it now loads, navigates and searches faster.
  • Browse by Torrents/Movies - You can now browse by Movies, which allows you to easily find and download torrents using a movies context rather than the usual torrents context. If you don’t like the new layout, the old list based layout is still available.
  • Movie details page – A single page capturing all available information about a particular movie including  Movie Information, Directors Information, Actors Information, Images - Thumbnails, Posters and Banners, Trailers, Torrents, Soundtracks, Other movies you might like, Tags, References & subscriptions
  • Director details page – A single page capturing all available information about a particular director including Director details and links, Director 's movies in PtN and Director 's Filmography with direct link
  • Action details page – Lists all available information related to a particular actor including Actor details and links, Actor's movies in PtN and Actor's Filmography with direct link
  • Compression (RAR’d and UNRAR’d torrents) - compression notation has been added to allow uploaders to mark their releases as rared/unrared. An "Unrared torrent" icon will then appear next to unrared torrents in the browse page.
  • New visual elements -  For those of you who use a 1280x720 resolution or higher two new wide-screen styles have been added: v2 Blue & v2 Grey. For those of you who use lower resolutions - a new v2 Black theme has been added.
To better utilize the space, the use panel has been narrowed down and the site's links have been moved to a new panel on the left side of the screen.
A Movie of the Week section has also been added to the left side panel.
A new right side panel has been added to hold the site notifications (message, announcements, etc...) This panel will only be visible when there are notifications.
  • Tags - Tags allow you too add words or phrases that best describe a movie. Tagging a movie will later allow other users to search/find that movie by running a search that is indirectly related to the Torrent/Movie information. This allows much easier search and to easily find movie by interest rather than by category and name.
For example: Adding the tag "Boxing" to the movie "Million Dollar Baby" will allow users to find this movie when searching for a boxing movie.
  • Subscriptions - Subscriptions allows you to automatically receive a notification when certain torrent qualities has been released for a specific movie. Subscriptions can save you that lazy browsing, looking for a good quality release for a movie that you would like to see. In the future, you will be able to subscribe to a movie even if no release of that movie even exists.
  • Category Icons - You can now choose your preferred category icons through your profile page (In the Torrents section). You can also select the default categories that you would like to view in the browse page and movie details page. Torrents are strongly bounded into movies now (Or to multiple movies). Torrent/Movies can now have multiple categories, these categories are set automatically when the movie's data is retrieved. You can also manually add/remove categories from a movie. Searching by categories - If a movie has the categories Drama & Comedy. Filtering out Comedies will not make the torrent/movie invisible. Only when Comedies and Dramas are filtered out, the torrent/movie will become invisible.
  • Filtering -  Movies and Torrents can be now filtered using Name, Year, Rating, Language and ofcuz.
  • Bookmarks - The bookmarks view was incorporated into the main browse page.

As you can see it’s a long list of features. Below is a screenshot of the new ‘Browse by movies’ view on PTN, which is without a doubt one of the most notable new additions to the site:

Browse By Movies View
In movies view mode, this is how movies are listed in the main index (this is not the torrent description page, which is much more detailed). If you prefer the old list based view, you can switch to it using the top toolbar.

And the screenshot below showcases the new main toolbar and search box, through which you can instantly change the look and feel of the torrent index:

PTN Toolbar

There are tons more new features but we obviously can’t include screenshots of all of them  - to read more about them in detail, login to the site and browse the PTN v2 forums – each feature has its own thread and you can find detailed information about a particular feature along with screenshots.

Signups for PTN v2 are currently closed and so are the online invite applications. Invite apps were open just a month ago (prior to v2 launch) and most of our readers should have got in when we announced this in the blog. In case you haven’t got in yet, don’t lose hope as PTN have been recruiting on a regular basis and there is a possibility that invite applications will open again in future (although we cannot tell when).

PTN Torrent Tracker – Invites Now Available Via Online Application

These are definitely good times for movie buffs. Yesterday we reported about CN re opening invite applications in a fresh new recruitment spree and today we have PTN, another specialized movie torrent tracker opening their invite applications to external users. PTN has been doing this from time to time but it’s been a while since they last allowed the public to apply for invites. PTN’s invite apps work a lot similar to others – users are able to fill the form and submit it online. If approved by staff, they are sent an invite that’ll lead them into the torrent tracker. This would be a great time for new users to join as double upload (dubbed 2X Upload Raid) is currently active throughout the site. PTN is a private tracker based on a total traffic model, and there is no ratio system present unlike in most similar private trackers. The site is expected to get many new features and is planned to go through a complete overhaul during the impending launch of PTN v2.

PTN Logo

Now we’ve posted about PTN numerous times on this blog – it wouldn’t make much sense to repeat the same detailed information here. Listed below are some of PTN site features in point form, if you seek more details and screenshots, we strongly recommend you read the full review located here.

  • Ratio free- PTN is ratio free. The site is based on a ‘Total Traffic’ system and a ‘Gold’ based bonus system. You can read more on how these work in the FAQ.
  • Internal encodes and exclusive releases – PTN has its own internal encoding group SKALiWAGZ. Plus, they have a lot of exclusive movie packs indexed as well.
  • Seedbox hosted torrents – Some torrents on PTN are seedbox hosted and have fast download speeds. These have a special icon next to their name in the torrent index.
  • Enhanced torrents – Torrents with gold upload multipliers, random category bonuses, staff picks, etc generate more gold when seeded back.
  • Multiple torrent browse pages – One each for movies, TV shows and official soundtracks (OST)
  • Requests system
  • Community – PTN is a community based tracker There is a lot of activity in the site’s forums.
  • Gold shop and DiAMOND shop – These places where you can exchange bonus points with upload credit and/or to unlock additional site features
  • Extras such as Arcade, Pirate galleries, Pirate's notes box and Blackjack
  • Heavily customized tracker script with a unique look and feel

A screenshot of PTN’s torrent index can be found below. The yellow colored icons next to a torrent’s name are special features activated for that particular torrent. Hover your mouse pointer over an icon (in PTN index) to see what they mean.

PTN Index

PTN currently tracks over 13500 torrents and has a user base close to 3000. They however do need more members – there are a lot of dead torrents indexed here. The open invite applications should help bring in some good members into the tracker. Invite apps will be open for three days – an announcement on site reads:

Are you ready?
Tick Tock Tick Tock.....
Better get your friends in here.......the moment is approaching!!!!!
Apps open for 3 days....

I’m not sure but the ‘the moment is approaching’ quote in above message could well be a reference to the impending launch of PTN v2. Either way you can now apply for an invite and check the site out yourself if you manage to get in.

I Love Classics Retro Movie Tracker - 1 Year Anniversary & Plans To Become Invite Only

There are many BitTorrent trackers up and about that cater for rare and obscure movies. A few examples of such sites would be Cinematik, Secret Cinema, Karagarga and Gormogon. Although not talked about a lot, one of the newcomers into this particular niche is I Love Classics (ILC). Well, it’s not exactly a brand new site as the tracker’s almost an year old. The important fact is that ILC has continued to grow at a steady pace throughout the past twelve or so months and has now evolved into a tracker that indexes over 10000 movies. If you are a fan of classic, rare, obscure, hard to find movies & TV shows, I Love Classics could be what you are looking for. This site is currently open for registrations but this is bound to change with their upcoming first anniversary. The tracker going invite only and becoming a closed community will be preceded by a week long site-wide free leech period.

I love Classics.

It’s not easy for classic movie/TV trackers to add new content – as you may know majority of indexed torrents in most private trackers are scene releases. Although the scene pres a lot of new movies and TV shows, releases of classic content are not-so-common and infrequent. Therefore, torrent trackers (or DDL forums) that specialize in these areas have to index a lot of P2P originated content, home encodes and user submitted stuff in order to grow. So far, ILC has handled this daunting task pretty well. Currently there are over 12000 indexed torrents – and a lot of them unique to ILC.

Type of content you can find on I Love Classics include both movies and TV shows. Don’t expect to find latest films such as Kick Ass or Iron Man 2 here :p . However you will be able to download a lot of retro flicks from the 1910s, 1920s, 1970s and so on. A lot of full season torrents of classic TV series are also available. Movies and TV shows are available in different video qualities – these range from TVRips, DVDRips to even Blu Ray rips. A screenshot capturing part of ILC’s torrent index may be found here:

I Love Classics Index

Ever since it’s launch ILC has been open to the public so getting into the site was not a problem. However according to administrators this will soon change with the tracker’s upcoming 1st anniversary. Apart from going invite only, several new rules to crack down on inactive users and collectors will also be introduced:

Notice to all Members
After the coming free leech, ILC will stop being open sign-up and go invitation only.
The staff will then start deleting accounts of all members that:

  • Stop their torrents upon completion (hit and run).
  • Continually ignore re-seed requests.
  • Don't seed any torrents, except 3 temporarily to allow a new download.
  • Accounts where the person has never downloaded a torrent, and not visited the site for 3 months or more. Both have to be true (downloaded AND visited) for these accounts to be deleted. If you've visited the site within the last 3 months, but never downloaded anything, your account is safe.

If you fall into one of those categories above, consider this your first and only warning. If you value your account here, this is your last chance to change your ways. If you don't, your account will be deleted and you'll never get back into this site again.
After this time, all remaining members (the sharers) will get a few invites given to them.

12,000 Torrents Birthday Celebration
To celebrate ILC's 1 year birthday and the uploading of our 12,000th torrent, everything on site will be free-leech. This will start on the 21st of May 11.59PM GMT and end on the 28th of May 11.59PM GMT.

If you still aren’t a member of this tracker (we have featured this site in the past), now would be a great sign up for an account. The site’s max user limit is set to 5000 and currently there are 3800+ registered members (roughly 1200 slots left). The upcoming free leech should help you get a head start by helping boost your ratio.

FilmBits Tracker – Download PAL DVDR, Blu-Ray Movie Torrents

After some time, here is a specialized movie torrent tracker for you BitTorrent fans. FilmBits is a private tracker that indexes untouched DVDs and Blu-Ray disks of latest movies and television shows. Based on SweDVDR’s codebase, FilmbBits boasts a clean look and feel, faster navigation and an overall well organized layout. Note that bulk of the DVDR and Blu Ray releases found on this site are those released for the Nordic region. However, English speaking users need not worry about this factor – almost all of the torrents have English audio & it’s only the optional subtitle streams that are changed based on region. In case you were wondering, most of the DVDR releases found on this tracker conform to PAL standard.

FilmBits

Although you don’t see BitTorrent invite forums being filled with invite requests for FilmBits and their discussion threads overflowing with queries about this tracker, it has in fact done pretty well compared with most other sites (especially newer ones) in its league. FB has so far managed to recruit 1600+ users and at the same time added over 2000 torrents to it’s ever growing index. Although the user count may seem a little low, seeder/leecher activity on torrents is pretty good on this site with most of the torrents having a longer than usual lifetime.

As said above FilmBits is full for DVDR and Blu Ray releases for Nordic region (both movies and TV shows). You won’t find many XViD rips here as the focus is mostly on untouched disks that come complete with multiple subtitle/audio streams, special features, full DVD menus, etc. Uploaded movies/TV shows include both scene and non scene releases. Once again, keep in mind that DVDR for the Nordic region does not mean it comes dubbed with a non English audio stream – it’s usually the optional subtitle streams that are new (you can usually check this on a torrent’s detailed descriptions page) .

FilmBits index

One big turn off for English speaking users however would be the site language – it defaults to Norwegian and cannot be changed at any point of time. You’ll be able to find your way without a translator but if worse comes to worse, use the auto translate option in Google Chrome as an aid.

Signups for FilmBits are currently open. Following notices (translated) are displayed on site homepage about the open registration:

2010-04-28 - People who are so stupid and makes more than 1 account and believe we do not detect this – they will only stay on this site until May 2.
2010-04-26 - Film Bits will hold a final open signup from 28 April to 2 May at: 23.59
2010-04-26 - Last time with open signup and freeleech on filmbits.net - signup closes Sunday

Right now there are plenty of free slots remaining so go ahead and check it out.

euTorrents – European Movie Torrent Tracker From AvistaZ Crew

By now, probably all of our regular readers might have read about AvistaZ (AZ). For those of you don’t know wtf that is, it’s a specialized movie torrent tracker that focuses on films from countries in the Asian region. With a huge user base and a rich content library, AZ has become one of the most successful trackers in the BT community. Good news for movie fans is that the experienced crew behind AvistaZ recently rolled out euTorrents, their sister site which is also a movie private tracker. euTorrents focuses on flicks from the European region and it’s already showing signs of making it to the ‘must have’ trackers list of every movie collector.

euTorrents

Within just a few days after launch, euTorrent statistics are looking pretty good. The site currently has 1700+ users and 350+ torrents (as of 3/31/2010). Expect these statistics rise sharply as news about the tracker spreads. Additionally, it’s user base would definitely get a boost from existing members at AvistaZ who’d no doubt want to check this site out too.

Just like AvistaZ, euTorrent’s main strength is the unique content it tracks. It’s not just another movie tracker – the site indexes movies that are not readily available on regular trackers or even in other dedicated movie trackers. Among the movies you can find on this site are Dannish, Finnish, French, German, Greek, Hungarian, Italian, Russian, Spanish, Swiss and Turkish flicks. Expect a lot more rare gems from these countries to be uploaded in the future. And it’s not just old movies that will get indexed at euTorrent – new titles (even those released on 2009/2010) will also be uploaded. A screenshot of euT’s torrent index may be seen below:

euTorrents Index

Just like most new private trackers, euTorent seems to be using the help of social media services to expand and to communicate with it’s members. They maintain their own release blog through which detailed information about new movie uploads are given and a Twitter account that automatically Tweets about new additions to the index.

Signups for euTorrent are currently open. Registration is free and is mandatory if you are to download torrents from the tracker. If you are on the lookout for movies from European countries, go ahead and check this site out.

The Roman Empire – Tracker For Classic Movies, Film Noir, Old Music Videos & More

It’s a well known fact that Romania is home to a large number of private torrent trackers. However, almost every new Romanian tracker launched nowadays seem to be a General/0-day tracker – in other words most of these sites have more or less the same content with little variety. The Roman Empire (TRE) is a site that tries to change this trend – it’s a Romanian tracker but it’s not another zero day site. TRE specializes in classic content which includes retro movies, foreign movies, films made in Hollywood’s classic film noir period and even music videos that date back more than a few years. TRE is not exactly a brand new tracker and has been online for a few months – signups are open for those who are interested in becoming members.

The Roman Empire

The Roman Empire is not a huge torrent site. However, it’s not a tiny, unknown ghost town either. Currently there are 2500+ registered members and the torrent index is decently sized (for a niche tracker) with around 1450 torrents. There is however a little concern when it comes to the addition of new daily torrents – there haven’t been many added in the past couple of weeks. Let’s hope this is only a temporary gripe.

As mentioned earlier, The Roman Empire focuses more on classic content. A variety of movies may be found here, ranging from those produced in the 1930s to the mid 2000s. A mix of English and non English (French, German etc) movies are available. The ~1000 movie torrents are categorized into nearly 50 different categories. Apart from movies, TRE indexes music videos, documentaries as well as some music.

TRE Index

TRE comes with the usual set of features of a private tracker such as a seed bonus system, a requests section, forums and more. There is a link to an internal image hosting service as well but this does not appear to be functional as of now.

Signups for TRE are currently open. If you are looking for a classic or foreign content tracker check this out – TRE may not be the best in this niche but still a decent site.

Henteles.Hu – Private Tracker For Horror Movies

There've been quite a few horror movie trackers featured on this blog – this includes smaller sites such as the now defunct ScareThe.Net to leaders in the niche such as The Horror Charnel (THC) - if memory serves correct, we even did several invite giveaways for THC sometime back. If the previously mentioned trackers were not enough to fill your thirst for horror movies, here’s another one -  the site we’re going to talk about today, Henteles, is another private tracker specializing in horror movies, TV shows and even games with violent content (yay!). It’s a relatively new entrant to this niche but is well worth trying out if you are into Horror, cult and sleaze genres. With its roots in Hungary, Henteles tracks both Hungarian and English content.

Henteles

Launched not too long ago, this site has already attracted a reasonable number of registered users – currently there are close to 3500 members which is a pretty good statistic for a niche tracker. Their torrent index too has grown during the first few weeks since launch and currently Henteles tracks close to 1000 active torrents.

As mentioned above, all indexed torrents on Henteles relate to the Horror genre. This includes TV shows, movies and horror themed games. Note that some of the available releases are dubbed in Hungarian – however, you can easily identify English and Hungarian torrents separately by filtering using the categories (press the ‘Kategoriak’ button on browse page to view list of categories). A screenshot of some of the English releases found on Henteles is given below:

Henteles index

Henteles is based on the TBDEV tracker script but it’s customized to give the site a darker look and feel. Some of you might find the customizations fitting to a horror tracker but some might find the interface to be cluttered and less organized. Additionally, interface language defaults to Hungarian and there is no way to change is to English – while non Hungarian users will still manage to navigate the site just fine, it’d have been nice to have an English language option as well.

Henteles is currently open for registrations. Assuming they are to remain open till the current max user limit is reached, there are around 4000 free slots remaining. If you are looking for a new Horror tracker, check this site out.

CN Invite Applications Now Online

Out of all the private torrent trackers online today, CN remains to be one of the most secretive. However, It's strict rules against publicity have not been able to prevent news from spreading across the BitTorrent universe – most people now know of it’s existence and the tracker is known as one of the best movie trackers one could get into. Thankfully, CN’s administration have responded to the growing popularity is a positive manner. Although the site hasn’t directly opened signups, numerous other modes of recruitment have been presented which can be used to get invited into CN for free, without getting involved with malpractices such as invite trading or scamming. If you missed out on CN IRC recruitment or E-mail invite requests earlier, here’s another option you can try – they now have online invite applications through which potential new members can apply and join to the tracker.

CN

Quoted below is a message posted on site homepage:

We have implemented a new external invite application system for non-members. Now you can tell your friends to come and apply for an invite.
You can deliver this message:

"The link for the application is (you can find it at the external page too) :
https://www.cosanostra.mn/applyforinvite.php
You are expected to answer all these questions clearly and honestly if you really want to join CN.
For all liars, traders and cheaters: Don't apply, you will be banned sooner or later and you will be just wasting your time."

Before you flip out about us posting the full tracker URL, it was mentioned here with permission from CN staff. This post would not have made much sense without it and we are grateful that CN staff were of the same opinion.

Anyways we won’t be posting detailed tracker information or screenshots of CN unlike in our usual tracker reviews. Just know that with over 15000 movie torrents, one of the best unique tracker scripts and tons of site features, this is a  tracker well worth getting into. If you need more background information, we suggest you read the site overview found below ( this was sent to us by CN staff team sometime back, during their E-mail giveaway):

On the surface CN is a dedicated movies tracker, but peel back the layers and you will notice that it is so much more. Our focus is on all types movies, regardless of language, genre or format.

CN is a tracker that prides itself on striving to be different as well as being quality conscious. It is a community that values social cohesion and interaction with each other. A place where we want hardcore movie lovers and the more casual movie watchers come together to discuss and share their opinions and recommendations on their favorite films.

It is a place that puts file sharing above all; meaning we absolutely encourage seeding and leeching as opposed to buffering and ratio whoring. People with seedboxes and fast connections are always welcome to help boost overall speed, but those who do not have either, need not be intimidated. A fast connection is certainly not a requirement to "survive" at CN.

While CN does maintain a somewhat strict inactivity policy, we feel it is only fair and reasonable, as CN is a place where every member should play their part and contribute to the community and tracker. If you have no intentions of doing so, then simply put, CN is not for you. Most of the disabled users you see on the site statistics are due to inactivity.

Together with a unique and comprehensive promotion system which requires all-rounded site activity to advance and a simple but brilliant seeding and bonus system that doesn’t exist elsewhere, maintaining a ratio is not a problem for even the user with the slowest connection.

In a nutshell, if you are looking for an extremely tight-knit community, unique tracker features found nowhere else, enjoy and love movies, are willing to play a role in achieving something bigger than yourself, CN is the place for you.

We’ve said this before and we’ll say it again – you have to become a member of this site to really see it’s potential. It has a lot of small yet useful features which all cannot be covered in a simple review such as this. For example, their promotions system is pretty unique and it’d take us ages to fully explain it in detail. So, as said above we’ll leave you to discover the site features – prepare to be awed the first time you log in :p

CN doesn't have many members but the ~1400 of them that are registered there are pretty active. Invite applications should bring in fresh new blood in and further boost the activity of this tracker. If you are looking for a decent movie tracker, try your luck with the invite apps.

Merlin (ML) – New Science Fiction/Fantasy Torrent Tracker From ACiD Crew

It’s always refreshing to talk about a brand new torrent tracker. It’s even more refreshing when the said tracker is a specialized, niche tracker. Merlin (or ML) is a new private torrent site that indexes movies, TV shows and music that belong to Science Fiction / Fantasy genres. ML is not just any new project launched by a bunch of beginners to the BitTorrent scene. It’s backed by an experienced crew who are responsible for running the successful ACiD tracker, one of the best and oldest community based private torrent sites in existence. Launching to the public in the first week of March, Merlin will initially be closed for public signups. However, interested members will be able to join the tracker through official IRC recruitment channel as well as by requesting for an invite via E-Mail.

Merlin ML Tracker

Given the nature of secrecy surrounding ML project, chances are that you may never have heard about this site until now. Even after the public launch, it’s unlikely that ML will turn into a ‘public’ private tracker as it usually happens nowadays (not saying it’s a bad thing). It’s publicity policy is something similar to that employed by ACiD -  posting of full tracker URL or name in public is prohibited. However it’s not one of those out of reach sites either - Although there are no open signups for now (there may be in future), members will initially be recruited via both IRC and E-mail. Just like ACiD, community will have a higher focus on ML and it won’t just be about torrents and downloading.

At the time this article was written, the public launch of ML had not occurred (but by the time you read this, it may very well have happened). However, we were able to get a sneak peak of things to come thanks to the kind SysOps of this tracker. Running on a custom tracker script, Merlin’s interface definitely looked good. The layout was well organized, uncluttered and the color selection was very easy on the eyes.

Merlin Tracker

Even though it’s a brand new tracker ML already indexes 425+ active torrents. These include movies, TV shows, soundtracks all related to the Science Fiction and Fantasy genres. Quite a few exclusive, unique torrents have also been indexed. These can be identified by ‘Menc’ or ‘ML’ tags on torrent title and are usually placed inside ‘Merlin Encodes’ category. Expect ML to build both its torrent index as well as registered users database pretty fast – they have the backing of ACiD which already has a rock solid foundation with ~20000 active members.

If you are ever to become a member of ML, you might want to read their downloading rules. Quoted from the rules page:

  • A Hit & Run here on ML is when you complete a torrent, stop it and do not return to seed within 24 hrs. This applies to all torrents whether they are free download torrents, ratio boosters, and special vip torrents, such as movie box sets etc... unless other wise stated by a staff member.
  • You need to be active on every torrent you download for a minimum of 72 hrs (3 days) or, achieve a 1:1 ratio, unless the torrent is over 20 gb's in size. This means total time downloading and seeding.
  • If the torrent is over 20GB's in size then we require that you be active on it for 120 hrs (5 days) or achieve a 1:1 ratio (Which ever comes first). This means total time downloading and seeding.

The above are minimum seed time requirements. Seeding beyond the minimum will net you 1.5x credit on uploads.

How to get invited to ML

Currently there are two ways to request for an invite to ML. In both cases, you will be invited (if approved) by tracker staff themselves and there is no need to worry about getting scammed.

  1. Send an E-mail with the subject ‘Merlins Invite’ to merlins.invite@gmail.com. Be sure to include at least one screenshot (which shows your ratio on site) of a private torrent tracker that you are already a member of.
    OR
  2. Login to ML invites IRC channel and request an invite there – please follow rules stated in the channel topic. Invite channel details are as follows:
    Server: irc.pron.org.uk
    Channel: #merlins-invites
    Direct Link: irc://irc.pron.org.uk/merlins-invites

Special thanks to methods, MuddSlinger, Saavyboy and rest of ACiD/ML staff for the heads up.

OurDiSC – Private Tracker For Full R1, R3 DVD And Blu-Ray Disks

It’s been a while since we featured an untouched DVD/Blu Ray tracker on FILEnetworks. But our Chinese friends are here to help (and they sure has hell have a lot more BT trackers up their sleeve that we initially thought) – OurDiSC is a private BitTorrent tracker that specializes in untouched DVD (DVDR) and Blu-Ray (BD+) movies. This tracker should appeal to movie fans living in both English speaking countries as well as those living in Asian region. Why? Most of the content tracked by OurDiSC are releases for R1 (DVD Region 1) and R3 (DVD Region 3). If you are interested in joining, signups are currently open and the site’s current max user limit will allow over 1000 new registrations.

ourdisc

This torrent tracker (http://bt.ourdisc.net) is a sister site of ourdisk.net which itself is a Chinese forum. As it usually happens with this kind of sites, the tracker most probably evolved from the success of the forum. However, note that these are two separate entities. http://bt.ourdisc.net (which’s actual name is OurDVD) is a fully fledged private tracker based on TBDEV codebase and is not a forum based site. It’s not a small tracker either. As of 13/2/2010 there are close to  6000 registered users and 3600+ indexed torrents on OurDiSC.

As for the content, most of the movies indexed here are releases for DVD Region 3 (R3 – includes Southeast Asia, South Korea, Taiwan, Hong Kong and Macau). However this still would be a useful tracker if you are from an English speaking country. Most of the releases come either with an English audio stream, Multilanguage audio or English subtitles. Just to be on the safe side, read the torrent description before you hit download link. An advantage of having this tracker in addition to your usual DVDR/Blu-Ray trackers would be the additional content – OurDiSC tracks some Asian movies not found on regular torrent sites.

Ourdisc index

By default, OurDiSC’s interface is in Chinese language. However, you can easily switch the entire site to English through the profile. Here’s a step by step guide on how to do this:

  1. Sign up for OurDiSC using http://bt.ourdisc.net/signup.php. Use Google Translate or AIRTranslate to help as there is no way to switch the site to English prior to registration.
  2. Once logged in, click on http://bt.ourdisc.net/my.php
  3. Change the language using the drop down, as shown in the screenshot below:

OurDisck Language change

Apart from minor language quirks (all torrent names displayed in Both Chinese and English, even if you have English as preferred language), OurDiSC is a decent tracker. It comes complete with a requests section, a bonus system, torrent enhancements (golden torrents - spinning gold coin), half download - spinning silver coin, 2x upload - two golden coins, etc). Signups are currently open so feel fre to check it out.

Wunza 2.1 - Now A Ratio Free Movie Tracker

We’ve been keeping an eye on Wunza ever since it’s grand return a couple of weeks ago. After the impressive re-birth, Wunza has constantly been improving with new users being added, more content being uploaded and new members being recruited. The next major revision of the site dubbed Wunza 2.1 was recently rolled out and this version includes several new features, bug fixes and UI and design enhancements. One of the most anticipated and possibly the biggest change introduced in v2.1 is the ratio free system. Users are no longer required to maintain a global ratio and with this move, Wunza joins the ranks of ratio free specialized movie trackers such as PTN. Simultaneously, the site has gone invite only but if you still haven’t made it inside, invites are available in the official IRC recruitment channel.

Wunza

When Wunza achieved a state of rapid growth after their return, staff made an announcement describing the upcoming v2.1 of the site. Quoted below is the announcement:

We said in our last announcement that the site will close for signups and become an invite only community when we reached 6500 members. Well, today we have reached that number! Signups have officially closed, the user limit has been set to 50.000, and all members have been given 2 invites: use them wisely. We remind you that it is strictly against site policy to engage in the trading, selling, or giving away of invites. The purpose of the invites is to give them to a friend who you think is deserving of it and who will contribute positively to the community. Please also keep in mind that if you are not active, your account will be deleted. All accounts that do not show any activity (signing in) for two weeks have been disabled, and we will continue this policy.
Also, on February 1st, Wunza will officially become ratio-free! Please keep in mind the required 120 hours (not consecutive) of seeding per torrent, or your account will be marked with a Hit and Run.
Some exciting changes and new features will be to the site as well:
- Chat Page [fixed]
- New Design [fixed]
- Ratio-Free [fixed]
- Uploader Class [fixed]
- Invite Only [fixed]

All the promises they made in this announcement (which was posted about a week back) have now been upheld. This includes the ratio free system which is now fully functional. Some might frown at the 120 hour seeding requirement (which is a tad higher compared to most other ratio free sites) but IMHO it’s a bold move that’ll extend the lifetime of torrents on Wunza.

Speaking of torrents, Wunza now tracks close to 1000 movie torrents. When we last reviewed the site back in December 2009 they only had 60 movies indexed. It’s finally nice to see Wunza breaking the curse of ‘not being able to upload enough movies’. Back in the days of Wunza v1, they had trouble getting the torrent count past 350 even after months of being online – it’s nice to see that things have changed for the good after the ownership change. The story is the same even when it comes to the number of registered users; Wunza now has a user base of ~5300 registered members compared to a mere 400 two months ago.

Wunza Browse

Even amidst rapid expansion, new features were also being added to Wunza web interface. The innovative browse page we spoke of in the last article has been improved with further tweaks. New chat widgets have been installed and several more design aspects of the site have changed. It’s good to see a tracker not focusing only on torrent uploads and member recruitment but continuing to improve  site usability as well.

Although Wunza was open for signup back when we posted our previous article, it has now gone invite only (with the launch of v2.1, of course). If you still couldn’t register, there is no need to worry. You can obtain an invite for free by going through the IRC interview process. To log in to the invites channel, all you have to do is to click the link below – Wunza will load the interview channel in your browser itself. This should be good news for those who dislike installing IRC clients, configuring them and logging into IRC channels.

Wunza Is Back – Movie Torrent Tracker (Gazelle)

Some of our readers may remember Wunza - a private tracker we featured on this blog about an year back. Wunza was one of the very first torrent sites to be based on Gazelle codebase and was off to a good start as a specialized movie tracker. However, things didn’t go so well and the site went offline about three months ago. This downtime seemed permanent but good news is that Wunza has returned from the grave. The site (which is run by a new owner) is now back online with open registrations. That’s not all – new ownership seems to be making much needed changes to the tracker including UI enhancements that look pretty cool.

Wunza

While it’s good that Wunza returned after a prolonged downtime, their torrent and user databases seem to have got reset in the process – the site is basically starting over from scratch. As a result, at the time this post is being written Wunza doesn’t track that many torrents. Site statistics as of 27/12/2009 list around 60 torrent files and close to 400 registered members.

Even after the return, Wunza continues to be a specialized movie tracker. It indexes movies encoded in multiple formats including XViD, x264 as well as untouched DVDR and Blu-Ray. Both scene and p2p releases are indexed. Right now all the uploaded torrents are on free leech and we hear from staff that it may remain this way forever (if that happens, Wunza could almost become a ratio free tracker).

A notable change in the resurrected site is their new torrent browse page. It certainly looks beautiful but there’s also the risk of alienating users who are used to the traditional browse page (perhaps another theme that retains the classic layout may solve this issue).

Wunza Interface

Anyways looks alone wouldn’t make Wunza a successful BitTorrent site. There are already quite a few specialized movie trackers out there like PTP, Tehconnection, 700MBz, CN, etc which are doing quite well. The start has been promising but only time will tell if Wunza could survive in the long run amidst intense competition from larger sites.

In the meantime, signups for this tracker are currently open. You get 5 invites upon signup and if you use the invites to get other members into the tracker, you’ll get gigabytes of free upload credit.

CN Invites Partly Open – Request Via E-Mail

This is probably old news but since we don’t want our readers to miss out on this great opportunity, here goes. CN, a low key, specialized movie torrent tracker, is going through another phase of expansion. If you couldn’t get into CN when it rolled out IRC recruitment for a limited period of time about three months back, here’s another chance. The tracker has decided to allow external applications for any user who shares love for movies and social interaction and potential new members are now able to request for a free CN invite via –mail, provided they successfully answer a series of questions set up by the staff.

As you might know, we review BitTorrent sites almost daily and all of our reviews are written by us based on our own experience with a tracker. This post however is an exception – it’s not a review but an announcement. CN has a strict no-publicity policy and it’s not possible to do a fair review of it without breaching tracker rules. However, us not reviewing the site shouldn’t be a reason for our readers to miss out on the ongoing recruitment phase. Thanks to CN staff, our problem is solved.

Thanks to an excellent overview of the site that was sent to us by CN staff team, you do not need to blindly request for an invite without even knowing what this site is all about. You can read it below and the overview should contain enough information as to why you should or should not become a member of CN. Detailed instructions on how to make an invite request are also included.

Interested Applicants please fill up this questionnaire and PM the answers to cn.interview.channel[at]gmail.com. It is best to be truthful with all answers as we have ways of verifying whether it is accurate or not.

  1. What have you heard about CN and why do you want to join?
  2. How old are you and which part of the world are you from?
  3. List your home IP and any other IPs you usually access trackers with (work IP, seedbox IP).
  4. How many movies a week do you watch on average?
  5. What are some of your favourite movie genres?
  6. What are your personal top 5 films of all time? Elaborate why?
  7. How big is your movie collection? (Digitally and Physically).
  8. How many movies are you seeding on your torrent client right now?
  9. How long do you usually seed your movie torrents on average?
  10. Do you upload and/or encode movies?
  11. Provide me with all your movie tracker profiles.
  12. Additional profiles of your most used trackers would also help. (At least 4 profiles are preferred, more would be better of course).
  13. Name one site that you would like to be a member of and reasons why. Excluding CN of course.
  14. What are your views on account /invites trading?
  15. Have you ever traded before? If so, when was your last trade?
  16. What are you looking for in a good movie tracker/community?
  17. What will you be able to offer CN in terms of tracker and community?
  18. Please provide your email address for invite to be sent to. Gmail is preferred.

If you have been accepted, you will find an invite in your email inbox. Be sure to check junk mail just in case. Please give us up to 1 week to process applications. If you do not find an invite after a week, you have probably been rejected. Good luck to all!

Before you make that invite request, there is a couple more things you should know. All questions need to be answered and answers should be in English. If you do not possess basic English communication skills, please do not apply. Also note that when tracker profiles are asked, they WILL expect tracker profiles and not screenshots. Good Luck!

Special thanks to CN staff team for the heads up and all the information provided.

Gormogon Open For Signup – Tracker For Old Movies And TV Shows

It’s awesome news if you love retro movies and TV shows. Gormogon, a private torrent tracker specializing in obscure, rare, classic movie and TV torrents has just opened public registrations for the first time ever. Apart from movies made since the 1930s, Gormogon tracks full season packs of quite a few TV shows which were hits back then. We had previously given away 250+ invites to this tracker through our giveaways section but that hardly met the demand. If you couldn’t obtain an invite earlier of if you are hearing about this tracker for the first time, here’s a golden opportunity to get into this rapidly growing site.

Gormogon

Gormogon is not exactly a new site to the BT scene – it’s a resurrected version of Classic Cinema Zone (CCZ), another retro movies tracker. Gormogon however is run by a new set of admins/staff and was rebuilt from scratch. Since their launch, the site’s been growing at a fast pace. They’ve been adding thousands of new torrents every month and Gormogon’s total active torrent count has now exceeded 6350. Member recruitment has understandably been slow as the site’s been invite only since day one. As at 1/12/2009 there are 1250+ registered users on Gormogon.

Download speeds on this tracker are average. Most of the torrents have enough seeders so that you can download them without issues. There’s no point of talking about pre times as majority of the releases are non-scene uploads that aren’t found on many other places. That brings us to the content tracked by Gormogon. There’s an impressive collection of classic movies ranging from 1930s to the late 1980s as well as some awesome full season packs of rare TV series. In addition, quite a few OST (official soundtracks) from retro hits, classic music and even old time radio shows are available for download. Some of the indexed torrents can bee seen in the screenshot below:

Gormogon Screenshot

Note that a small number of indexed torrents are tracked by external public trackers such as that of TPB’s. Ratio rules do not apply to these torrents. However the vast majority of releases are tracked by Gormogon’s own private BitTorrent tracker and they do have ratio rules for these torrents.

If there was one complaint we had about Gormogon it would be their layout. The site runs on xbtit tracker source and the layout looks somewhat dated by today’s standards. Anyways this is not a huge deal and the rare content more than makes up for it.

As the title of this post says, Gormogon is currently open for signup. Open signups are likely to continue throughout December or until the sites' current user limit (5000) is reached (whichever comes first). Right now you don’t have to worry about running out of free slots as there are 3500+ spots left.

PTN Invite Applications Open For Two More Days, 2X Upload Enabled

After being closed for a while, PTN has re-opened their external invite applications to the public. This should be good news for folks who were looking forward to get in since PTN invites are not that common and on most BitTorrent forums it’s a non-movement tracker (you can’t request/giveaway invites). External applications are one of the safest ways to get invited as the invites come directly from trackers staff - there will be no risk of your inviter being a scammer, trader or a cheater. As we have discussed in detail many times before, PTN is a specialized movie torrent tracker. It’s a ratio free private site that focuses a lot on community.

PTN may not be as popular as other specialized movie trackers but that doesn’t mean it’s crap. In fact, PTN is a tracker that doesn’t prefer much publicity – they have rules in place that prevent full tracker name on URL being publicly disclosed. It’s not just a wannabe secret tracker though – PTN is a pretty well established site' that’s been around for a while. Currently there are over 2600+ active members and over 7500 torrents indexed.

PTN mostly tracks movies. This includes individual movies as well as unique movie packs. In addition TV series (including season packs) and OSTs can also be found on this tracker. Screenshot below shows part of PTN’s torrent index:

PTN Torrent Index

As we mentioned earlier this is a ratio free tracker – PTN doesn't want you to maintain a minimum global ratio like most other private torrent sites. Traditional global upload:download ratio is easily replaced by the ‘gold’ system – which is a seed bonus system variant only way too cooler :p (to learn more about it, read FAQ and rules after joining PTN).

PTN has one of the most customized user interfaces ever – you probably won’t see anything like it elsewhere. Apart from the layout it’s packed with lots of small features such as arcade, blackjack, pirate galleries, pirate’s notes box, three separate browse pages for movies/TV/OST and so on. Even when it comes to ‘Gold’ there are some interesting site features just waiting to be discovered. For example when browsing the torrent index you might come across a set of yellow colored icons next to a torrent’s name. These indicate the currently active enhancements for that particular torrent such as 2x, 3x, 5x gold multipliers, random category bonus, filled request, ‘staff pick’ and so on.

Being a private community, PTN is almost never open to public signups. One of their more popular methods of new member recruitment has been the external invite application. PTN invite applications were explained and discussed in some detail in our previous review of the site. Before you complain about the whole process, we suggest you read the comments to that article which includes responses by users as well as PTN Staff.

Note that open invite applications won’t last forever – they usually close in ~2 days.

Site Name: PTN

Invite Application URL: http://*********.***/comeandplay.php (do not use ‘www’ in the address)

Note: PTN tracker rules prohibit displaying full tracker URL in public so only the location of the invite application was given (../comeandplay.php). Do not ask for full tracker URL or post it here.

In addition to open invite apps, double upload is also enabled for all torrents on site. One of their pioneering staff members stepped down and it seems PTN have enabled 2X upload in tribute:

As a gift to the users before he left, aFTERMATh managed to break in the 2xUpload button. It will be at least 3 days before we get it fixed, so happy leeching, its an early christmas present!

2X upload too will remain active for another ~2 days. If you want to get in and earn some gold, now is a perfect time :)

SceneXViD – Specialized XViD Movie/TV Torrent Tracker Now Open

I first stumbled across SceneXViD a few days ago while browsing FST - someone had opened a thread advertising the tracker there. Initially it appeared to be another forgettable tracker but it’s recorded some impressive growth over the first few days since launch. SceneXViD is a private torrent tracker that specializes in movies and TV shows encoded using XViD codec. It would have been the first private tracker of this kind but 700m.bz (Open) kinda already won that trophy. Still, SceneXViD appears to be a decent tracker in a world populated by thousands of ‘general’ trackers.

SceneXvid

I’ve seen folks argue that XViD is a dying codec specially when it comes to BitTorrent. Argument is that higher fidelity encoders such as X264 are taking its place. While this is true to some extent, XViD is by no means a dying codec. In fact, it is still the king among movie/TV encodes – if you look in most trackers, XViD version of the same movie/TV show is snatched a lot more than the x264 version. Anyways I just wanted to point out that SceneXViD will have no problems when it comes to finding or indexing new XViD rips and their decision to index XViD-only content would not limit or reduce member recruitment. (If you want non XViD content, you can try looking in SceneDVDR (Open), their sister site which indexes untouched DVDs)

SceneXViD has only been online for about a week and it’s done quite well during this time. So far the site has managed to recruit around 750 members and get close to 300 torrents uploaded. Note that this is a Swedish site and the interface language is always set to Swedish– right now there is no way to change it to English. This shouldn’t be too much of a problem as navigation is pretty straightforward.

Download speeds and pre times (which are sometimes measured in hours) on SceneXViD are nothing much to talk about but hopefully they’ll improve as the site grows. As for the content, both Swedish and English releases are indexed. If you are looking for English only releases, look under ENG, TV-ENG and PACKS categories. Below is a screenshot showing part of the torrent index:

SceneXvid Screenshot

Signups for SceneXViD are currently open – there are no IRC recruitments, invite applications or interviews. Just fill the signup form (you might need the help of Google Translate) and you’re in.
