Private Tracker Invites For TorrenTiT Members Ahead Of Shut Down

If you haven’t heard, TorrenTiT is shutting down. If it makes things any less painful, it’s not because of legal issues - there were no raids and no one got arrested. However the tracker was hit by internal disputes (which we do not like to discuss in detail here) and it seems TiT will close down for good. While it’s definitely a sad tale for the users of this Gazelle based General/0Day tracker, what’s been amazing is the response to this news by other private trackers - Nearly 15 other private BitTorrent sites and BitTorrent forums have come forth to offer existing TorrenTiT members a new home. Sites involved range from specialized movie trackers such as PtN to general trackers like RevolutionTT.

First of all, these offers are only valid for existing TorrenTiT members (expect for some which are open to all). Requirements to get into each site varies but in almost all cases you are required to show and un-edited screenshot of your TorrenTiT profile. Below is a summarized list of trackers that offer invites to TiT members. We’ve linked to some of our older posts which contain more information about these sites for your convenience.

EDIT: List of sites have been removed. Although we did not reveal any of the exclusive links, IRC channel details or signup URLs, TiT admins did not like the fact we went public with the info (check comments). We apologize for any confusion this post may have caused.

No matter how many replacements are there, it’s always sad to see a BitTorrent tracker close down. TorrenTiT was/is the home of nearly 10000 members and tracked nearly 6000 active torrents at the time this post is written. Although many do not know, TiT has a lot of history behind it. It was originally known as 123torrents and was launched back in 2004. They had a great run as a private tracker but soon ran into BREIN, the Dutch anti piracy group. In 2005 they lost the 123torrents domain and by mid 2006, the site was entirely shut down due to continuous pressure from BREIN. After a long wait TiT returned in September 2008, this time running on Gazelle codebase pioneered by What.CD.
