RevolutionTT Invite A Friend-A-Thon Competition & Country Bans

Existing members of RevolutionTT shouldn’t be strangers to the awesome competitions they hold. Every once in a while, RevTT tends to run a contest that showers its members with free upload credit. After the hugely successful IRC idle bonus, here comes Invite a Friend-A-Thon competition – this is yet another opportunity for RevTT members to win gigabytes of free upload and boost their ratio on site. This contest is purely based on Inviting good members into the tracker. If you invite enough new users who respect tracker rules and stay active on site, you can win a maximum of 500GB free upload credit as well as a promotion to TT Gold Club user class (which is above VIP) absolutely for free. There are however some restrictions on whom you can invite – you cannot invite anyone from 9 countries which are now banned from the tracker.

First of all, you need to be a power user on RevTT to be eligible for this competition. Power user status is granted for everyone who’s been a member for at least 4 weeks, have uploaded at least 25GB and have a ratio at or above 1.05. Power users who have not received any warnings and are not from a banned country (see below) are allowed to request for a maximum of 3 invites from staff, if not automatically granted by the system. Once you have your invites, you can start inviting new members into the tracker. Invite A Friend-A-Thon competition rewards you based on the performance of your invitees. Competition has multiple stages and as you advance through them, the reward gets bigger and bigger. Quoted below is a news post on RevTT homepage, which explains the process in more detail:

If you are thinking of taking part in this competition, it’s highly recommended that you read the two forum threads linked-to in the excerpt above.

As mentioned earlier, there are some restrictions on whom you can invite due to the existence of country bans. It looks as if the same list of countries that were blocked in RevTT’s last open signup are blocked in this competition as well.

There are some exceptions to who qualifies for this. As of our Goodwill Weekend many of you may have heard we blocked certain countries from signup to Revolutiontt. This decision wasn't made lightly, since opening the site so many years ago we've had several geographic locations that continue to be a issue for us. Not all but most users from these areas are repeatedly breaking site rules and take up a huge amount of staff time to respond to and take appropriate action. As a result membership has been closed to the following countries and current users from these regions are not eligible for invites.

Brazil
Egypt
India
Israel
Pakistan
Portugal
Romania
Saudi Arabia
Turkey

All current user from these region can rest assured your continued use of the site will not be blocked. From this point on however no new members from these countries will be allowed. Failure to comply with this will result is the loss of both accounts.

In other words, RevTT has imposed country bans on all of above listed regions. As explained in the post above, these bans apply only to potential new members - if you are an existing member from one of these countries there is no need to panic (unless you get caught violating tracker rules that is).
