As predicted, BitTorrent trackers are celebrating Christmas by giving away lots of bonuses, invites and others offers to existing members. If you were looking forward to becoming a member of highly sought after games torrent tracker BCG (Blackcats) and popular HD torrent tracker HDBits.org (not to be confused with HDBits.ro), here’s a great opportunity. HDBits.org’s invite system will open next Monday (21st) and during this day existing users will be able to invite friends to this awesome tracker. In addition, BCG tracker has added 10 referrals to qualifying member’s accounts and if you have any friends on BCG, now would be a good time to ask for an invite.
BCG adds 10 referrals
There was a time when you could get into BCG fairly easily. However this is no longer the case as the site became increasingly discrete about their operations, specially after changing their login page. In addition, BCG’s invite system was essentially replaced by referrals back in 2008. Good news is that qualifying members were awarded with 10 referrals each. By qualifying members we mean those who were members for more than 6 months, downloaded at least 25 torrents and total download exceeded 50GB. It’s no doubt good news but be extremely careful with who you invite - As explained by a previous post, referrer is responsible for the referee. And if you are planning to make invite request threads on BitTorrent forums, double check because BCG is a no-movement tracker on most such communities. I have just give everyone that is entitled to referrals, so that is
- 25 downloaded torrents in history (check the top row of your achievements table)
- 6 months member
- 50 gigs downloaded
10 codes for use over the xmas period.
I have also boosted the bonus your referrer gets on signing up. Before it was 2 gig from a user, 10 gig from a VIP 15gig from staff. Now it is
- User = 10gig
- VIP = 20 gig
- Staff = 30gig
This basically means that when you refer a new member, the new member gets the above amount on his upload automatically.
This cannot be used to Hit and Run, but it will give you a little bit more leeway if they are like kids in a candy shop and go a bit daft once joined.Hopefully we will get some good members in by doing this, if we do we may keep this after xmas, if we do not, then it will probably go back to the way it was.

More good news – this time regarding HDbits.org, arguably the best private HD torrent tracker on the planet. HDBits’s invites system which remained closed for nearly an year will open next Monday (21 December 2009) and existing members will be able to invite new users to the tracker during this day. Invites have been closed for quite a while now, and we figure there are probably some good users out there somewhere who would like an account.
As such,we are going to allow sending of invites all day on the 21st of December (next monday).
To accompany this special occasion, there will be a free leech (no download counted) for the entire week beginning on the 21st and ending at the close of the 27th.

Again, be extremely careful with who you invite – any screw ups on the part of your invitee will reflect badly on your account. And if you are a new member who’s hoping to get in through a non legit way (trading, scamming, etc) think twice – invites system was shut down due to trading in the first place and when it comes to trackers that should not be messed with, HDB sets a standard.
HDBits.org is a large HD tracker with over 20000 users and 25000 torrents. They are best known for internal encodes, exclusive releases and fast download speeds.
