BakedBits (formerly BitNation) returns – This time on Gazelle

Back in last December, we reported about the launch of BakedBits, a General/0Day torrent tracker. BakedBits was a reincarnation of BitNation, another popular general tracker that had to shut down. Although BakedBits started out with a user base of 20000 members (BitNation’s old user DB) the launch was not that promising. Constant downtimes plagued the tracker and it was subject to many controversies (they even had a plan to become a Pay-To-Leech FTP service). There wasn’t much talk of this tracker in the BT community until now – the site has returned and BakedBits v2 is now live. New version of BakedBits is based on Gazelle, the popular new BitTorrent tracker script.

As opposed to last time, BakedBits’s old user database and torrent index have not been migrated to the new Gazelle implementation –everything is seemingly built from scratch. As a result, they currently only have around 50 torrents and around 425 active members. Speaking of the interface, it’s pretty much and out of the box Gazelle template with only minor customizations.

BakedBit used to be a General/0Day tracker and this has not changed with the re-launch. It tracks scene and non scene content – there are no exclusive torrents available other than usual releases you can find on other general trackers (not yet, at least). Anyway it’s only been 6 days since BakedBits v2 was launched so nothing much can be predicted about the site’s future at this stage.

Registrations are currently open. New members will get 5GB free upload credit and 2 invites each. Signups will remain open till the user count reaches 1000.
