When it comes to downloading movies online, using peer to peer file sharing networks such as private BitTorrent trackers or using direct download link forums are very popular options nowadays. But those are not the only ways pirates can gain access to movies that are leaked online - watching them via video streaming sites is becoming an increasingly popular option as well. If you are a fan of video streaming, you might like the site that we are featuring on this blog today. The Hidden Archive (THA) is a large directory of streaming and direct download links for English movies, both old and new. In addition to movies, streaming links for a number of popular Television shows are indexed on THA.
We’re not exactly sure how old this site is. From the looks of it, it’s a relatively new entrant to the file sharing community. It appears that the site is another side project of the folks behind new BitTorrent forum Bratva and Bratva.ws (which itself is still under development). Anyways The Hidden Archive already indexes a considerable number of movies and TV shows so it seems to have matured pretty quickly.
Unlike other streaming sites such as AZNV, The Hidden Archive does not serve any of the video streams itself. Instead, it indexes video streams found on external sites. A singles movie or TV episode usually has several streaming links from different sources for added reliability. Direct download links are also available but I’ve so far seen them only on a few indexed releases.
You can browse the entire repository of movies or TV shows indexed on THA through the menu on top left corner of the page. When you click on a movie title, you will be taken to it’s detailed description page. This page will have a host of information about the movie including production details, plot details and cast details. Most of the information on this page are hyperlinks – for example, if you click on the name of an actor, other movies indexed on THA which the same actor stars on will be displayed. If you click on the genre, a list of movies of the same genre will be shown.
One of the drawbacks of this site is that it does not (at least not yet) have a search feature. If you are looking for a specific movie, an easy way to find it would be to open the A-Z movie index and use browser ‘Find’ function (usually Ctrl + F) to match text. There is also no current way to browse the movie list by genre or by actor.
Anyways THA looks to be a promising new project and has seemingly gotten off to a great start. If you are a movie buff, you’ll want to check the site out. Registration is optional but registered users will gain access to site invites and profile customizations.
