Libble Now Open For Signup – Ratio Free Music Torrent Tracker

These seem to be good days for music fans. As we have highlighted before, What.CD and Waffles.Fm are not the only music torrent communities around. While these two are without a doubt excellent trackers, there are other smaller sites around which have also been successful. Today’s post is about one such private BitTorrent tracker; Libble.com. Libble is a private BitTorrent tracker that specializes in music. It runs on a heavily customized Gazelle codebase and sports a beautiful interface. But that’s not the main attraction of this site – it’s a music tracker without a ratio system, just like CoExist, TSCN, Vibes and SQN.

Libble

Libble has been around for few years and it’s done quite well as a niche private tracker during this time. At the time this post was being written there were over 10500 music albums by 8600 artists spanned across over 12000 active torrents. With 5600+ registered members, it’s has a decent sized user base as well.

As we mentioned in a previous article, Libble has a special system called ‘Share Rank’ instead of the regular ratio system commonly found on most private trackers. A brief summary of Share Rank may be found below (information is quoted from Libble Knowledgebase):

Share ranks are a system we've implemented to replace ratios. It is a measure of your contribution to the site based on several factors:
Ratio - If your ratio is between 0 and 3 you will get a positive or negative bonus based on how good (or bad) your ratio is.
Torrents Uploaded - The more torrents you upload, the higher bonus you get.
Data transferred - The more data you transfer on torrents (up or down) you higher bonus you get.
Torrents Snatched - The more torrents you snatch the higher your bonus.
Torrents seeding - The more torrents you're seeding the higher your bonus.
Hit and runs - Your total hit and runs in the last month is subtracted from your score.
These factors are combined (with different weightings) to give you a final score. This will determine your user class and whether you are put on Share rank watch or not. In general you should keep your share rank positive.

It’s highly recommended that you read the ‘Share Rank’ section in KB if you are thinking of becoming a member of this tracker. It explains things in greater detail.

Speaking of the content available in Libble, it’s all about music. You can find and download music albums related to a number of different music genres such as pop, rock, indie, punk, techno and many many more. Both scene releases and p2p uploads are tracked. In addition to releases common to most music BitTorrent sites, Libble has unique torrents of their own such as Libble Community Mix Tapes and User-Made Mix Tapes. Both lossly (MP3) and lossless (FLAC) music albums are available. Screenshot below captures a small part of Libble’s torrent index:

Libble Screenshot

Libble is a private community and is usually closed for signup. However at time of this post, public registrations seem to have opened for a limited time. We do not know when signups will close so if you do want to become a member, register ASAP. All new users will get 2 free invites upon signup (EDIT: New members do not receive any invites at first. They need to be earned.).

Site Name: Libble (http://libble.com)

If by the time you read this post the site has become invite only, you can still try to get in by obtaining a free invite through IRC. Channel and server details are as follows:

0DayMusic – Direct Download Music Albums

Every day we post about private torrent trackers and BitTorrent but torrents are not the only way you can get your hands on latest scene released material (most of you know this already :p ). The site we’re going to talk about today (0DayMusic.org) is not a torrent tracker by any means. But it’s still one of the best sources to find and download music albums that leak online. 0DayMusic itself does not host any files – however, it does link to one click hosting sites from where you can download the leaked albums from. Almost all the releases indexed on this site are those pre’d by the warez scene aka ‘the scene’.

0daymusic.org

0DayMusic is a very simple site. You don’t need to register, you don’t need to maintain a ratio and you don't have to worry about torrents with no seeders/leechers. As I said earlier, there are no files hosted on 0DayMusic.org site – what they maintain is a list of download links to music albums. Most of the releases seem to be uploaded to ‘Uploaded. To” (which is a one click hosting site). It’s a decent service but they seem to have several popup ads so keep an eye out for that.

0DayMusic Index

Speaking of the content, 0DayMusic tracks all sorts of music across multiple genres. You can search for music albums by genre from the right sidebar pane. You can even search for music video releases from here. I’ve been using it for some time and so far I haven’t run into any fakes or virus infected fines so I’m guessing it’s all good.

Colin McRae DiRT 2‎ – How to fix save issues & create an offline Windows Live profile

By now probably all of you are aware of the release of Collin McRae : Dirt 2. I haven’t had much time to play it yet but from what I’ve seen so far it looks like a decent racing game (except for the fools who interrupt you every time in the in game menu). Anyways this is a short post aimed at fixing a common issue many seem to be having; How do you save your progress if you are not logged into an online Games For Windows Live (GFWL) account. Dirt 2 is a Windows Live game and it uses GFWL 3.1 to manage saves and other player settings. But what happens to folks who don’t have an online account?

Colin Mcrae Dirt 2 Cover

There can be several dozen reasons why one wouldn’t want to be logged into an online service while playing a game. FFS there still are some PCs that are not always connected to the internet. Anyways if you don’t have a Games For Windows Live account, you can still save your progress using a local profile (which does not require internet or logging into GFWL). In GFWL 3.1, creating an offline profile is slightly different than in previous versions. Follow the steps below if you need to create one:

  1. Launch the game. Open the Windows Live menu.
  2. If you are already logged onto a profile (local or online), sign out (Create profile button will only become visible when you aren’t logged into anything)
  3. Click on ‘Create new profile’ button.
  4. In the dialog box that pops up DO NOT hit continue. Hitting continue will take you to a registration page for an ONLINE profile – that’s not what we want.
  5. Once in the ‘Create Gamer Profile’ window, scroll down so that you can see the bottom paragraph.
  6. Look for the hyperlinked ‘created a local profile’ link in last paragraph. Clicking this will allow you to create a new offline profile.

You should now be able to save your progress in Dirt 2 without any issues. The game will log you into your offline profile automatically whenever the game is launched.

MyAnonamouse Invites On IRC – Excellent E-Book & AudioBook Torrent Tracker

During the past few weeks we saw the shut down of several BitTorrent trackers. While the loss of these sites will definitely be felt for days to come, BitTorrent as a whole remains unaffected. For most General trackers, there always were other sites waiting to fill the void left behind by them. But how about specialized trackers that focus on a certain niche? These sites are not so easily replaced. As you may or may not know, MakeGratMusic and CatTorrent, two private trackers that specialized in Audiobooks, Ebooks (both fiction and non fiction) and other Infotainment material, are currently down. However there’s no reason to be unhappy if you are a fan of such content – the awesome folks at My Anonamouse tracker are here to help.

MyAnonamouse

We hear people talking about trackers such as BitMe and BitSpyder almost everyday but perhaps you may not have even heard about My Anonamouse until now. Well that’s a shame because My Anonamouse excels at doing what it claims to do. With over 24000 registered users and over 20000 indexed torrents, it is a pretty large niche tracker with a content rich torrent index. So what kind of torrents exactly does My Anonamouse track? The answer is given in their invite request page itself:

If you are a musician, you will find: Lick libraries, sheet music, instructional media as well as Concert DVDs.
For book lovers, we have an amazing selection of both audio and ebooks, ranging from current 'blockbuster' releases to those rare gems.
Our recently added Comic/Graphic Novel section is growing daily.

Most E-Learning/E-book torrent trackers I’ve come across do not track books other than educational content. That is, if you want to download fiction or any other non-educational ebook/audiobook, chances are they’ll not be available on most of the trackers you use. My Anonamouse however has a great collection of non-educational ebooks as well as comics, making it a site well worth having. In addition to these, there are tons of other categories ranging from concert videos to instructional media. Just to give you a brief idea on the varied content available on this tracker, given below is a screenshot of part of their torrent categories:

MyAnonamouse_thumb7[1]

Most of the indexed torrents on My Anonamouse are non scene. Hell, a large portion of them are unique uploads and chances are that you won’t find them on other trackers anyway. Apart from individual releases, torrent packs and collections are also available. The site runs on a customized TBDEV tracker script and has a pretty simple interface. It is a ratio based site (Seed back for 48hrs or to a 0.5 ratio whichever comes first) but the presence of the bonus system and free leech torrents should make life easier.

My Anonamouse is a private community and is closed for public signup. Now that several trackers have shut down, they have increased their invites limit to facilitate stranded members from other sites. Free invites are offered via IRC (for everyone) and it’s pretty easy to get one. You do have to answer a few questions but these are not designed to rape new members – staff is very helpful and even noobs have a chance of getting in if they read the rules and FAQ carefully. To quote the words of ‘Lazy Mouse’:

The invite questions we ask is to first off all educate people about how a private site works if they are totally new to it, it not, they know the ropes and will answer the questions just fine.
It's not a matter of getting them right or wrong, it's about learning and trying their best :D With this system less people end up with a bad ratio, since they know what we expect of them and what they can do from the start to not end up with a warning or getting download disabled after 4-7 days.

Before you request for an invite, be sure to read the Rules, FAQ and the invite application page. Links may be found below:

FixWin – Repair damage caused by viruses, registry changes and more

No matter what sort of protection you have, some viruses or malware may at some point get past your defenses. Hardest part about getting rid of these fukers is not the removal itself, but undoing the damage and changes they made to the system. For example, AntiVirus software will remove the viruses and their traces completely in most cases but very few will actually undo the registry changes made to the system. Ever ended up with a disabled task manager, hidden folder options dialog, missing optical drives, windows explorer errors, malfunctioning windows components and other similar annoyances? If so, FixWin is a software that you might want to try.

FixWin

FixWin offers a number of one click fixes to common Windows problems such as the ones mentioned earlier. Fixes are categorized across several sections; Windows Explorer, Internet & Connectivity, Windows Media, System Tools and other Fixes. In total there are around 50 fixes listed. Best part about this software is that it supports newer Windows versions such as Windows 7 (there are several Win 7 specific fixes listed such as Areo Snap, Peek and Aero Shake not working, etc).

FixWin itself is a portable application. You do not need to install it – just run the exe and you are good to go. Additionally, it’s free, only 500kb in file size and is well worth the download. Check it out.

Gormogon Open For Signup – Tracker For Old Movies And TV Shows

It’s awesome news if you love retro movies and TV shows. Gormogon, a private torrent tracker specializing in obscure, rare, classic movie and TV torrents has just opened public registrations for the first time ever. Apart from movies made since the 1930s, Gormogon tracks full season packs of quite a few TV shows which were hits back then. We had previously given away 250+ invites to this tracker through our giveaways section but that hardly met the demand. If you couldn’t obtain an invite earlier of if you are hearing about this tracker for the first time, here’s a golden opportunity to get into this rapidly growing site.

Gormogon

Gormogon is not exactly a new site to the BT scene – it’s a resurrected version of Classic Cinema Zone (CCZ), another retro movies tracker. Gormogon however is run by a new set of admins/staff and was rebuilt from scratch. Since their launch, the site’s been growing at a fast pace. They’ve been adding thousands of new torrents every month and Gormogon’s total active torrent count has now exceeded 6350. Member recruitment has understandably been slow as the site’s been invite only since day one. As at 1/12/2009 there are 1250+ registered users on Gormogon.

Download speeds on this tracker are average. Most of the torrents have enough seeders so that you can download them without issues. There’s no point of talking about pre times as majority of the releases are non-scene uploads that aren’t found on many other places. That brings us to the content tracked by Gormogon. There’s an impressive collection of classic movies ranging from 1930s to the late 1980s as well as some awesome full season packs of rare TV series. In addition, quite a few OST (official soundtracks) from retro hits, classic music and even old time radio shows are available for download. Some of the indexed torrents can bee seen in the screenshot below:

Gormogon Screenshot

Note that a small number of indexed torrents are tracked by external public trackers such as that of TPB’s. Ratio rules do not apply to these torrents. However the vast majority of releases are tracked by Gormogon’s own private BitTorrent tracker and they do have ratio rules for these torrents.

If there was one complaint we had about Gormogon it would be their layout. The site runs on xbtit tracker source and the layout looks somewhat dated by today’s standards. Anyways this is not a huge deal and the rare content more than makes up for it.

As the title of this post says, Gormogon is currently open for signup. Open signups are likely to continue throughout December or until the sites' current user limit (5000) is reached (whichever comes first). Right now you don’t have to worry about running out of free slots as there are 3500+ spots left.

RevolutionTT – Improvements and Expansions

Before you get your hopes up, it’s not an open signup. RevolutionTT, one of the best General/0day trackers in existence, is gearing up for the holiday season with improvements to the site and rewards for its members. They’ve launched a number of competitions that are worth tons of upload credit, rolled out a new site feature ‘Top Ten Torrents’ and even awarded select users with 3 invites each. RevTT’s invites system itself has undergone a few changes – inviters are now able to see stats/ratios of invitees right on their profile pages. Most importantly, they have a new system in place which rewards those who invite good members to the tracker.

RevolutionTT

A mass PM sent to members of the site is quoted below:

We are almost through another year, as ever we're looking to improve and expand on the RevolutionTT experience!!

Top Ten Torrents - You will now be able to see a Top Ten Torrents box at the top of the browse page, showing you the most active torrents from the last 48 hours, thus giving you the chance to maybe grab something big you've missed, something good you've not heard of, or just get on busy things to help with ratios! The Top Ten Torrents Feature can also be turned off in your profile options if you don't want to see it.

Invite a friend-a-thon - It's another new addition to your own user page, when you look now you will be able to easily see the statistics and ratio's of your invitees. This means we can reward members with upload credit for inviting good people, and it helps you keep a closer eye on people not doing as they should, and help them to recover!

Qualifying Power Users and above have been given 3 new invites as an early present from the RevolutionTT staff team

Their plan to reward those who invite good members is pretty clever. If it works well it should minimize trading and will actually make existing members *want* to invite genuine users to the tracker – because they too will have something in it. How does it work? You basically get upload credit based on the performance of your invitees.

Stage 1 - 25GB credit when you have 2 qualifying invitees all with a minimum of 20GB downloaded and a ratio of above 1.0.
Stage 2 - 25GB credit when you have 3 qualifying invitees all with a minimum of 35GB downloaded and a ratio of above 1.0.
Stage 3 - 50GB credit when you have 5 qualifying invitees all with a minimum of 40GB downloaded and a ratio of above 1.0.
If you go beyond this, you will qualify for promotion above VIP - TT Gold Club - plus a 500GB reward.

Now that ScT is gone, RevTT is as good a tracker as any for those ex-ScT members seeking a new home. While there have been no direct promotions targeting such users, increased availability of invites should now make it a little easier for everyone to gain access to this tracker. In addition, RevTT has been known to open registrations in Chritsmas/New Year period. Who knows, this might happen again ( and in case it does, we’ll be the first to let you know :) ).

Note: We do not have any RevTT invites to give – do not ask for them here.
