GFT (GFTRacker) is a ratio free scene releases tracker which has gained huge popularity in the few months it’s been online. Although GFT is a relatively new tracker to the BitTorrent scene, it’s pre times are right up there with SCC and SCT and in some cases even beats them. They have also managed to add over 19500 torrents to the tracker during this time. If you were looking forward to get into GFT, here is some good news - IRC invites are back once again.
Initially, GFT invites could be obtained from their IRC channel after completing a simple questionnaire. This system was later discontinued and no invites were given via IRC in the last few months. Good news is that GFT staff have begun issuing invites on their invites channel once again. The only requirement to get one is to have a good ratio on a recognized private torrent tracker such as Torrent Damage, SCC, SCT, TorrentLeech, etc.
How to join GFT invites IRC channel
- Download and install mIRC from here. If you already have it, go to step 3)
- Restart your web browser if it was open during mIRC installation.
- Click on irc://irc.station51.net:6667/gft-invites to join the channel.
- If mIRC presents you with a ‘Link Request’ window, choose ‘Change to the new server and join the channel’ option or ‘open a new connection’ option. Press ok.
If you are not using mIRC, just join #gft-invites channel on server irc://irc.station51.net:6667 from whatever IRC client you are using. If you don’t have an IRC client installed on your system, you can use the web based IM service Mibbit which supports IRC protocol. - Once on the gft-Invites IRC channel, PM either Morph or BarryWhite (choose username from the list on the right panel and double click if using mIRC) and they will guide you on what to do next.
Yesterday it was TorrentLeech and today we have GFT. That’s two great trackers in two days folks!
