Back in 2008, private torrent trackers based on the Gazelle codebase were a rarity. But now the situation has changed. While sites based on TBDEV and TS Special Edition are still plentiful, Gazelle script has become hugely popular among SysOps/coders– new sites based on it are being launched every month and even some well established, older sites have migrated to this template (if you need more info about Gazelle, scroll towards the end of this article). Anyways we noticed that a lot of Gazelle trackers are open for public signup right now – although most of these sites have been covered before on this blog, here is a summarized list so that you may easily discover and join the sites you like.
We have linked to the full site review beneath the description of each tracker. This is done for a reason – without blindingly registering on all sites that you see, read the review and get an idea if it really has content that appeals to you.

Description: HDAhoy is a new gazelle based HD tracker. What is Gazelle Codebase and what is a ‘Gazelle tracker’?
If you are a member of several private torrent trackers, you may notice that a lot of them have the same standard layout (with some amount of customization of course). This is because they are based on a common template such as TS Special Edition or TBSource. Gazelle is a similar tracker script (pioneered by the crew at What.cd) which has some advanced features as well as security, reliability and performance enhancements.
For example, the hardware resource usage of a Gazelle based tracker is significantly lower than that of a tracker using TBSource. This results in the site’s ability to cater for a larger user base with less server costs. Gazelle also offers more customization options for site administrators with it’s CSS based layout. Gazelle’s benefits are not just for SysOps. Users will immediately benefit from it’s fast navigation and user friendly interface. Tons of other features such as tagging, wikis, knowledgebase, categorization by artist, title, album, etc which will add more value to the site, are available with Gazelle. If you want to know more, just sign up for one of the trackers above and see for yourself. The official page of Gazelle Codebase can be found at http://projectgazelle.org/.
Note: Some of the new ‘beta’ trackers based on Gazelle were not included in this post. Also, only torrent sites with open registration were included (does not include trackers open with IRC recruitment). Think we missed a site? Let us know via E-mail or as comments to this article.
